ER or family doctor?

rudeguy

I don't mean to cross post, but I kind of need some input fast.

Last night my blood sugar was 51, this morning its 57. That's after I scarfed down 5 waffles with massive amounts of syrup last night. My mind isn't too clear, so any help is appreciated.

If it's affecting your thinking (my mind isn't too clear) then go to the ER.

You have insurance?

I do.

ER visit is $100, doc is $20. I think the doc's office opens at 8...maybe I can wait and call them then?

If you know what your blood sugar is, someone must be doctoring you. See them.

My son is a diabetic, so we have monitors laying around.

Will you nurse me again...please?

No, my tits are sore from last time.

If you have clear-minded people awake and around to monitor you, I'd say wait for morning. If you collapse or become unresponsive they can take you to the hospital.

If it's just you, ER it. You probably won't see anyone until 8 AM anyway unless your condition becomes life-threatening.

But I'm a cheapskate, and a cynic.

NSFW, you seem like you're doing ok, call your doc's office at 8:00. It's only 20 min, right?

9:15 with my doc

I'm still not used to the whole NSFW thing....

hmm could low blood sugar be causing anxiety which is causing your insomnia?

Yes. I am also ALWAYS cold. My doc wanted me to get some bloodwork done a couple weeks ago. I put it off because I am a lazy bastard.

Time to go get poked!

Tell Odin we said hi.

aren't you taking insulin? have you been properly diagnosed as type 1 diabetic? when i first was diagnosed as type 2 my BSL was over 750. it cause great alarm with my doctor, then they gave me meds, whihc dropped me below 60, boy was that a wild ride :/

to me though, it sure does sound like you might have type 1.

good luck.

wow, did you workout pretty hard the night before? that has a tendency to make your blood sugar levels drop considerably.

myself for instance, i'll check my BSL pre workout typically around 90 - 120, then post workout i'll drop 15 -30 points depending on my intensity.

No workouts either. Doc is pretty sure its something with my thyroid. Either that or my metabolism spiked after I quit drinking.

I got to see the vampire lady at the doc's and have a couple weeks before I get the test results. I asked him to do the gonasyphaherpalaids tests again just to make sure.
