Equation for calculating body fat?

Nothing accurate. Fat distribution varies. You can use calipers, and that would be better, although ultrasound or getting measured by displacement is more reliable.

Even those methods have a hundred variables that could screw it up! There's no way that you can measure body fat on your own..

if you're talking about BMI: body mass index, it goes by height and weight
you want to get a score of ~25 otherwise you're overweight

the equation i read in glamour once but forgot

If you are dwelling on it, then you sir ARE A FATTY!!😀

The measurement thing only works for average people....the three skinfold measurement is a lot more accurate.

The two most accurate is water weighing and a radio wave or something one (I am a little sedated now 😉 and don't want to look it up ).

Alot of the height/weight type measurements are way off for athletes, I was 189lbs (5'10") and maybe packing 10% body fat at most...my life insurance was deferred until I saw a physican for evaluation as I came up either obese or severely obese by their standards.

How accurate are those scales that determine your body fat % by sending an electrical current through your body?
