Was at my local Wal*Mart today and decided to do something about my allergies. Since Claritin is available OTC these days, I decided to give it a try.

The 10 count package of Equate Brand (i.e. Wal*Mart Brand) Loratadine was listed on the shelf for just under $7 (perhaps $6.74); however, when it rang up, it was only $3.42! That's 34.2¢ a pill.

After popping one pill, waiting about an hour and determining that it works, I went back to my Wal*Mart to purchase some more (as I figured 34.2¢ a pill is a pretty hot price).

While there I scanned the price of the other two packs of Equate Brand Loratadine: 5ct & 30ct. The 5ct box rang up at the price listed on the shelf (around $4.74 I believe, which is more expensive than the price the 10ct box is currently ringing up for); however, the 30ct box (which was listed on the shelf for around $14.74) rang up at $8.42! That's under 28.1¢ a pill!!!

I've previously read that Claritin sells for around $1/pill, and when checking for previous hot deals here on Claritin, it looks like 40¢ in quantities of 100 was previously considered hot.

Anyway, I don't know if my Wal*Mart simply has their prices programmed incorrectly or if the drug is indeed on-sale. That's why I've labeled this thread w/ a YMMV.

Happy breathing!

P.S. This is the 24-Hour version of Loratadine, not the 12-Hour version.
