I love how it is basically Lost Dungeons of Norrath, Eq2 style. It will give more meaning to repeating instances over and over.

I hope those erudites have fabled items and not just legendary. With another year at level 80, we need to be able to buy some better stuff that what we get in the instances!

They are doing a lot for artisans too, with group artisan quests and stuff like that.

I haven't played EQ2 since last March or so, and I've been fiddling around in EQ1. They just announced recently their new expansion. You can hire NPC's to adventure with you. ;)

I did not read up on that, do they mean as pets or as party members? It would be good if you could hire folks to fill up your party, but I don't know how much I'd trust an NPC to tank or heal for my group ;) They are the 2 classes that are always lacking when you want to build a group.

I believe they join the group in a group slot. The word is they require minimal supervision. So it won't be like a pet that you bark orders to. They just sort of play like another player would. You find a spot, probably say "lets camp here", assign a main tank "HiredNPC1 is MT", and the NPCs just sort of play as a group member would. The healers heal the MT when they are damaged (or anybody else in the group), the tank just assists the puller and attacks when the mob gets near the group. I think you probably have a predefined set of keywords to invoke their behavior common to MMORPGS.
