EQ2 naming

Is there any RP name enforcing in this game like what they are doing to WoW? I'd hate to see someone named WTFPWNUL33TOWNAGE running around, just spoils the experience.

As I understand it, there will likely be RP and nonRP servers. On the RP servers, naming conventions will be enforced. On nonRP servers, the naming conventions will be more lenient.

Someone correct me if I am wrong, but this is the last I heard.

If they do enforce it, I hope they do it better than DAoC. They claimed from the beginning that even non-RP servers wouldnt allow stupid ass names... When I stopped playing, they were all over the place.

I remember SWG saying they wouldn't allow stupid names.... after a few months you start seeing MiCrOaMp crap etc. quite annoying

WoW's new naming policy does not force an RP name. It just can't offend people or be just plain stupid.

I skimmed over it again after the updated.

I still think it's pretty nazified, but whatever.

They'll enforce the naming policy for the first few months..and then they'll start to slacken, just like it did in DAOC, it is simple too much work to keep watch on names 24/7
