EQ2 Bloodlines Chronicles Video

LOL ok.

Anyways, those are all ingame graphics... everything you see there, the character movements, character facial expression, the movements of the heads when you're surrounded by mobs, the parrying of weapons, dodging of a swing, EVERYTHING there, is ingame.

Since the link works fine, as verified by both myself and Hardcore, the problem is definitely on your end.

See, here's how it works. You click on the link I posted. It opens either a new tab or a new browser window.

You will see the following:

Bloodline Chronicles Movie ? Part #1
Take a look the first movie for EverQuest II: The Bloodline Chronicles and get a taste of this highly anticipated adventure pack. You can view the movie or download it by right-clicking here.

Easiest way is to simply stream it, but I always prefer to DL videos. Click the last 'here' in the last sentence, it will open a DL window. Choose where you want to save it, then click Ok. Depending on the speed of your connection, it may take a few minutes.

Once you have it DLed, you double click on it. It will open in your default media player and begin playing automatically.

Gurck, you should stop blaming SoE for your own shortcomings.

Cute, that a direct quote from your well-worn copy of Internet for Dummies? 🙂 Their server was too congested, simple as that - not surprising since they generally find out how little they can get away with spending on something, then spend half of that figure on it. Nothing is spared, not dev teams, QA, GMs nor webservers .

The server is not congested. IF it was congested, there would be some delay opening the page on my end. Since it opened instantly, AND DLed at a steady 600KB/s, I'm going to go out a limb a say that the problem is still on your end.

You try releasing/renewing your IP, rebootings, checking your router, etc? I'm assuming you have some sort of broadband connection here though . . .

Congested? Not for me... i was downloading at a consistent 300kbs+

Oh it works now, though it was limited on their end to about 685kB - not surprising. First try didn't. Btw, how are the Indian GMs treating you? I hear the accent debate many Dell customers have turns into a grammar debate when the method of communication is text, is this the case?

Never had a reason to call a CSR on the phone. There have been two cases where I was talking to a GM in game. 1 was for an actual issue that had cropped up and I wanted resolved. I consider it minor because I could have gotten my shard back by either waiting it out, or grouping with one of my lvl 45+ friends. The second was just a friendly conversation debating the monk class.

In both cases, the GM was knowlegdeable, polite, and helpful. And she/he definitely knew a lot about how the game's classes work. My expertise is limited to Druids(No Prestige, just Druids), and Monk's. My scout, Bard in training, is still too low of a level for me to learn anything.

LOL still looks like plastic dolls... and the animations look horribly stiff and unlifelike...
the only good wep animations in the game are on the 2 handed staff... which actually is very fluid and human like...

overall the models still look very ridged and never once suspend my disbeleif that it is a living being..

no thanks still not going back to EQ2...

still wish they had just stuck with the EQ1 formula... at least that one was semi fun

Really? It seems to me that SoE is top notch in EQ2. End game raid mobs are raidable (hello raid lockout bug in WoW, finally going to be fixed in an upcoming patch), unlike some other competition. They've added more content than other competitors, and faster. The patch process is quick and simple. I read WoW forums daily and see pissed off people. The WoW (hell, and FFXI) GMs are craptastic at best. There is no dev communication in WoW. Go check out the EQ2 boards, TONS of communication. Player input is actually considered, tweaked, and implemented. Now stop spewing sh*t because EQ1 post-velious left a bad taste in your mouth. Completely different game.

Top notch? Thanks, always appreciate a good joke. I especially like the comment on a "quick and simple" patch process, especially considering what a clusterfvck the last one was. EQ1 post-PoP (where'd you get Velious from? That expansion rocked) is but a small aspect of my opinion on Sony.

You see people complaining on WoW forums because Blizzard allows it. When people complain on Sony forums they're banned and/or the forums are shut down (seen both happen). Different mentality from an Asian corporation, Blizzard believes in allowing people to speak their mind without fear of reprisal.

All that being said, I can no longer defend Blizzard, the lag is nothing short of horrendous. About half the time, we make it through prime time with only severe lag spikes... the other half we get a server reboot, or worse, "planned" maintenance (yeah sure, planned during primetime hours or during weekends  ). It doesn't matter that they were willing to spend the money it takes to craft a great game instead of relying on the venerable Carrot & Stick if you can't even log on.

In short, while Sony is still about the most unethical large corporation in the world, Blizzard isn't exactly wearing a halo either. It's readily apparent that their servers are insufficient to handle the load, and unfortunately they seem to be borrowing from their battle.net mentality of "don't complain, it's free" ... but WoW isn't free. Perhaps Vanguard will offer the combination of quality & service we're all looking for.

I don't read the WoW official forums, talk about b.net kiddie paradise. Mostly read high-end EQ guilds turned WoW guild forums (Fohguild.org mostly). The high end raiders are better able to articulte the retardedness they see, plus its what I'm more concerned with.

I'm not saying SoE is the best corporation out there, but their attitude and finesse towards EQ2 is nothign short of excellent. They learned a lesson with EQ1, thankfully. There are issues that plague EQ2, but there is constant communication as to what is happening and when. Blizzard dropped the ball. They had an opportunity to seize the mmorpg market by the balls but fell short.

As to Vanguard, if it can recreate the feel of EQ1, I'll be impressed. Nothing has come close for me. Damn nostalgia. I hope Brad can do it again.

Gurck you're talking to a wall. As most players have stated here, they haven't had many issues with EQ2. EQ2 is run by a different developement team than EQ1. I'm curious if you have even played EQ2. You probably haven't because you have hatred toward the company. Until you play the game you have no right to talk. Your basing your opinions on an older game. Someone already recommended you check out the eq2 forums and you likely haven't gone there.

I'm not a fanboy, I played EQ1 for about 2 years and quit for most of the same reasons you have for disliking eq1. But this is a different game, different developement team, and until you get that through your head, you're just talking to a wall. I don't think anyone here can take you seriously when your using your own eq1 issues to trash eq2.

Did you know that SOE is based in california? Run by a man named John Smedley? Sony maybe asian based, but this subsidary is not.

My opinion is based on a lot more than EQ1, thank you. Sony's consumer electronics are overpriced, of sub-par quality and built to break. SW:G suffers from many of the same problems both EQs and Planetside suffer from. Businesses are heirarchal structures; the bottom exists only to support the top. It doesn't matter if EQ2's dev team is different; they operate under the same unrealistic time & budget constraints that any branch of Sony operates under.

And yet your opinion is never based on the game EQ2, where it really counts. Your perception is not a reality here. I don't understand what your trying to achieve here. If you hate Sony that much, go to the BBB, talk to Sony personally, go somewhere where it actually means something. But you're just wasting your time here, this game has had probably one of the best launches in mmo history and has had minimal, if not, non-existent service problems. You're preaching to the wrong choir. And if you dont believe so, it doesn't really matter. You haven't even played the game.

With that said, the more you talk on this subject, and I'll put it lightly. The more you make yourself look foolish. And I'll admit im foolish too. I'm foolish to even be here defending this game against someone showing blatent ignorance.

Straight from EQ2players.com, not like you'll believe it. It's quite obvious you wont listen to anyone except yourself.

Making a game like EQ II is an amazingly complex and wonderful thing to behold. It involves people from a variety of different areas of expertise such as design, sound, programming, art and of course a management team to make sure everything is coming together smoothly. During the course of the development of EverQuest II, the team grew to over 100 people in size (and that's just the development team, not including QA, CS, Operations and our Platform teams which brings the total to over 250.)

What typically happens when making an MMO is that the "Live Team" that runs the game after it launches is usually a smaller subset of the team that developed the game. That team usually works on a combination of live updates and expansion packs that come out 1-2 times per year.

After listening to feedback from our players, we've decided to make a change to the way we've done things in the past, and focus on growing Norrath in new and exciting ways. This is going to mean keeping the team at it's existing size or even growing it in order to make sure we can do this the right way.

This thread was supposed to be about the Bloodlines video, which was pretty damn cool. 🙂

Enough with the debating in my thread. We all know Gurck has no solid basis for his opinions and isn't going to change no matter how much people try and help him see.

Having said that, I am really looking forward to seeing the continuation of both the written lore and the videos for Bloodlines. Once I get paid next week, I'm going to buy the Bloodlines Adventure Pack.

Well, you got me 🙁 Seeing as how corporations, especially standup ones like Sony (and Philip Morris, fwiw), never lie or mislead people in hopes of higher profits. Corporations are good and moral entities.

What are you, 12? Put Norrath on hold a second and have a look around Earth. What Sony has done consistently for better than thirty years holds just a bit more water than one paragraph they wrote to plug their newest MMOG 😉

You people should post on the official forums, they always need more rabid fanboys  This debate wouldn't have even happened if Sony could properly maintain a website in the first place.
With that said, the more you talk on this subject, and I'll put it lightly. The more you make yourself look foolish.
This from someone who pays Sony money for 1) the privelage of rabidly defending them and 2) to get reamed from the rear by their corporate policies... Someone as foolish as yourself must think the sane foolish, so I'll have to take it as a compliment - Thanks 😀
