Looks like a nice printer for office use, It has almost universal praise on amazon which is rare for an inkjet, it uses the new 676 inks which are a lot bigger than even the XL 127 inks of the workforce 845 and 645. I would also like to know what people on here who own this printer think about it.

If the price is not to high I think it is a good printer, especially if you plan on printing a lot of stuff.

All those Praise are from Amazon Vine members, I don't know if that could be trusted or not.

I am one of those Vine members. I can assure you that factored only into the fact that I didn't pay for the printer. Has squat to do with what I wrote - if you look at other reviews, I'm sometimes negative.

I very much love my printer, except for one minor issue, but that's something I rarely use - there's a scan issue with the sheet feeder, but that's going to be my individual unit, not a design fault.

As an alternative, I would suggest something like the Brother MFC-J5910DW. It will do copy/print/scan/fax with an ADF and can handle full 11x17 tabloid sized prints.

The big advantage to this printer is that the ink cartridges are large, each color is individually replaceable, and they don't have silly microchips. Therefore, cheap generic ink is readily available on eBay, etc. I just purchased this for a family member and it prints like a dream.

Total cost of 12 ink cartridges: $15.12. Simply unbeatable...

Why is it so many forums help areas the answer is "use something else"?

Like we can all just up and get something else on a whim like that?

Because 99% of the time, the OP's followup question is: "Can you suggest a better option?"

If you ask a question, wouldn't you prefer to have many replies containing both direct responses and also relevant suggestions to your original question...?
