Staples has the Epson Stylus Photo 820 Color Printer for $149 and includes a $50 rebate with purchase.

add some paperclips to go over $150, use the $30 off $150 code (it's out there), oh yeah, and free shipping,

and you've got yourself a nice little photo printer for $70 to your door

This is a good deal. It was around about a month ago and my parents got in on it.

And yes, there are tons of codes available right now.

damn, so tempting.
The 780 model is 60 bucks at HSN.com. I heard these new models use ink cartridges with
chips on them so the generic ink refills are more expensive.

Both models use the chips on the ink. I have the 780 from HSN and the output is truly beautiful. You can't tell the difference between a commercial print the the printer.

Damn...another hot deal...now I need a sub $100 digital camera that's actually decent (unlike that macy's camera--MACY'S???)...

Here is a review done by mr. Tom:

Here's an excerpt:

"The Stylus Photo 820 is the printer with the highest number of shades in the test. It is also the only one to render the colors faithfully, without adding unwanted ones to those requested to make the image brighter.

It's a pity this higher quality is not noticeable when printing photos on standard paper. Results here are like its rivals - lack of detail and shades. Another thing is that border-free printing is not available in top resolution. If you want this, you must decrease 2880 dpi to 1440 dpi, which turns out very acceptable if you use photo paper.

Now to office document printing. The Stylus Photo 820 is a notch lower than its rivals. On standard paper, the print runs a bit, the characters lack precision and those integrated into illustrations (captions, headings, etc.) are often fuzzy. And there are noticeable jagged edges on special characters. This is especially noticeable when rather unusual, bold or large fonts are used, and even just on caps.

In short, this is a printer for photo mode. If you need to use a device regularly for office work, you'd be better off choosing another model with higher performance, or else a spare printer. Why not a little personal laser?"
-----------------------------

So all in all, I'd say not bad for a photo printer, but as far as a replacement for my laser...well, considering it's about as cheap as a toner cartridge for my laser, and it prints color, I think I'll pick it up.

Another option is to buy it from Quill.com for $119.99, then get the rebate from Epson.com. I believe quill offers free shipping, too. I was gonna get this one, but I opted for the 780 from HSN.com. Its been four days now and it still hasn't shipped. I am getting peeved.

Thanks for the update, so now there are two options, staples and quill.com, either way its' a great printer for about $65-$70

I got this printer last night, and started printing it today. It's pretty good. the ink doesnt have the chip, cuz it's built into the printer itself. That'll save you money in the short run. *Inks go for 20-30 bux*. If the chip ever gets screwed up, you'll have to buy a replacement, and that'll cost you a good 40 dollas. I'm happy with it. If you go to staples, and buy it there, they'll throw in 500 sheets of quality paper for a buck. It's only good w/a purchase of a printer..so stack em up!

*Throw dem bows*
