I just bought one at my local Sam's Club for $149. I thought it was a great deal since most online retailers had it over $200. Then I went home and was going through the Epson website and found a $50 mail-in-rebate for it! Heck of a deal if you ask me.

you can buy it directly from epson.com. Did this a few months ago and have yet to recieve the rebate 🙁

It's an awesome printer/scanner though.

It works for me everytime. I'm using Adobe Acrobat Reader 6.0.3. Same link if you go to Epson.com -> All-In-Ones -> Epson RX500 -> Promotions. It's the middle promotion.

Yeah, I really like it so far. I was originally looking at the R300 and R320, $149 and $179 respectively. They're all 6 ink photo printers, but the RX500 with the scanning and copying abilities, it was a no brainer.
 
It's a great printer. I've had it for over a year and a half. It uses ink pretty quickly though. Of course some of the other brands might too, but I've only owned 2 printers.

actually if you buy a 3mp camera on the same reciept you can get the printer for $50+ tax on 148.32 🙂

Thanks for the second rebate! Some people might find that useful. Just curious what the cheapest 3mp digicam at Sam's is...
 
Not sure about that vegeto, haven't tried that yet. I picked this up at Sam's a few days ago. I have been using a Lexmark printer that is about 6+ years old(Was 50 bucks when I got it and I was like 14 or so... lawn mower budget baby). So this was a great upgrade. Thanks OP, this thing has excellent scan quality compared to other AIO printers I have used. Could barely tell the difference between the original and it.
 
No, this doesn't print directly to CDs like the R-series. Yeah, I'm using the scanner/copier a lot also . Mainly to copy all the receipts and stuff for rebates from all these deals in this forum! 🙂

But it does use the same cartridges as the R300 (just incase somebody decides to get both 😉)

In case the link is not working for anyone, here is a link to the promotions page at Epson. Hopefully this rebate will go through. I plan on buying this from my mom's business and she does a lot of copying and scanning.
After reading some reviews, this may look like the best deal on a All-in-One printer for <$100. Thanks Tikerz for the heads up on a great deal :thumbsup:
 
Just got my rebate back from Epson! At my local Sam's Club they dropped the price to $139! Rebate is good through 6/30/05!
 
Just used my new RX500 to scan my receipt. I'm no expert, but IMO this scanner is DAMN GOOD. Price was $139.87 @ my Sam's, so I blew $14.88 on the 3-year service plan. Kick-ass deal, man. Thanks for posting it.
 
Good deal now just go out and get a CIS inking system for it and you will be golden. Look on ebay for CIS in the printer supplys for ink its well worth the extra starting cost

No problem. I ran into this deal by accident. I thought $149 was a good deal when I bought it. It was either the R300 or this for $149. RX500, no contest. Then I came home and was surfing around the Epson website and ran into the promotions page, and voila! I'm surprised Epson didn't make a bigger deal about the rebate. Imagine if Sam's had advertised the rebate in the store...

 
Their scanners are GREAT but their printers suck big time, use to much ink, get clog a lot, use a microchip to block third party ink.

Can't believe they find people who are willing to spend that much for ink.

$15 a cart and it has 6 carts so that's only $90 to refill the whole thing. If you buy a Canon IP3000 you can buy ink for $3.95 x 4 = $15.80

High Quality ink only $3.95

It depends on what you use your printers for. A majority of professional photographers use Epson printers for the print quality. Though, many of them make too much money to care about ink costs.
