Epson R220 Printer Refurb Direct from Epson

Its one of few that will allow you to print directly onto a cd/dvd AND ink can be had for it as low as $1.15 per color 😉
 
They have these in all the time on the website.Just keep checking in on them every once in a while.
Over the past few weeks its been down to 48 shipped and about average for the epson site is 70 Shipped.

These are good printers, but they do get quircky. If you can find a nice 340 for under 100 grab it. Its 100% better than the 220.
 
Grabbed this one a while ago from Best Buy. Works great, print quality is amazing (even on CDs/DVDs) and ink is cheap as dirt.

Ive had mine for almost 3 years now and I havent had any problems with it at all.
 
hey i have a R200, but im outta ink (i got it free with a laptop) and i dont want to buy ink...

Yeah I had an iP4000 I got at Staples for $50 AR. I ordered the tray from eBay, but my wife's necklace found it's way inside the rollers and ate my poor iP4000 🙁 At any rate, I had an R200 and it was great. I broke it while moving and picked up an R220 recently and it's very nice. Love the print CD feature. Swiftinks is where I buy my inks and they look as good as OEM. Edit: A number of people have inquired about the tray and how to do the hack. Here is some info:

You can still pick up the tray off ebay. Just do a search for "canon tray b". I know there's at least one guy who even sells it with the software for like $25. The iP4000 has amazing print quality btw.

As far as hacking the iP4000, it's cake. You basically just put it into service mode and switch it to include the CD print feature and that's that. You press a few buttons, reinstall the driver, install the software, voila, you can print on CDs. You do need special printable discs. The most popular are the white ones, which have a paper-like white surface, although they also sell silver printables. If you buy the more expensive tray kit on ebay (the $25 one), they guy also includes instructions on how to do that. Also, SureThing sells some disc labeling software that I really like (if you're on a Mac, take a look at disclabel from SmileonmyMac instead). Print quality is better than you get on commercial DVDs since you can control the quality of the print - it's just like printing a photo! If you're looking for a good place to get discs, both Newegg and SuperMediaStore sell printables. Just make sure they're printable discs and not the regular kind. Hope that helps! 🙂

back OT... this deal would be even sweeter for those who get settlement coupons for the epson store. btw... the R320 is a repeating Fry's item in the refurbished state.
