Let me know.

You are better off going for the C70 or C80 due to the fact it uses seperate ink carts for each colour so you only replace the colour that gets empty first like say cyan, magneta or yellow rather then the whole lot at once,.

<< Or did you have to buy a parallel seperate? Also does it have USB connector also? thanks >>

No parallel cord supplied and yes they have USB connector as well( I prefer using USB on mine).

Btw more info on the C60,C70,C80 models can be found here .

Hi,

The December 26 issue of PC Magazine has a review on InkJet Printers. They give the top marks to the Canon S300 and S500 & the Epson C80.

The Epson C80 has WATERPROOF inks!!!! That is what clinched the deal for me!

Here are the cost per page they gave:

Canon S300 $0.06
Canon S500 $0.04
Epson Stylus C60 $0.10
Epson Stylus C80 $0.04
HP 940C $0.07

So the Canon S500 and the Epson C80 look like the best choices. I sprung for the extra cost of the Epson C80 for the lower cost per page and because of the water proof ink.

Epson Stylus C80 uses separate color ink cartridges so you don't through out a cartrige which ran out of blue, but still has Cyan and Yellow left! That is nice. Plus, it uses "waterproof inks impervious to rain and spills". The magazine article said they left a page out in the rain for 30 minutes and the ink never ran or smeared. That has always been the thing I disliked the most about inkjet printers.

Wow, 4 cents a page is great for the epson c80. I'm glad I bought it, and finding out that it is waterproof ink is even better LOL ..

Yea...seems to me you got a great printer there...the 15 cents per page stat on PCworld was for the color (proibibly photo) on the c60 so was a little decieving for you...yours will be less i am sure....i went w/ an HP cause I needed it NOW and have heard they will work for what i will do....thanks again for your help all

That's great... I still love HPs every works great, just for printing USPS labels jammed it all the time, but other than that I am happy you got the HPS and in addition to that the cartridges aren't expensive, and they have a lot of generics out there so ink may even be cheaper. Hehe

The lack of water proof printing has always annoyed me about inkjets. It's nice to see a company come up waterproof now!!! I bet it would be hard to find 3rd party inks, or ink refills for this puppy tho.

Anyway, it looks like a good choice!

Umm sorry to nitpick but i think you mean "cyan, but still has magenta and yellow left!" Cyan is the ink cartridge name for blue and you left out magenta.

I would go with the C80. Right now CompUSA has a good deal on them. Same price for the printer itself but you get a free Samsung 24x10x40 CD-RW drive after rebates.

C80 179.97-30 mail-in rebate=149.97
CD-RW 119.99-15 instant savings- 105 mail-in rebate=FREE

I know ... that is a great deal... too bad I had already bought it at fry's for 129.99 - $30 rebate. Of course that deal is much much much sweeter.

Gol Darn Nitpickers!!! I get burned by them every time. Lets see, I took a color photography class about 22 years ago in college where we learned about additive and subtractive colors! Guess that stuff didn't stick too well. All I have to do is mention something without checking first and I'll get a correction pretty quickly! For some folks, it is their reason for being! ;) Of course, when it comes to trains, I often end up correcting others too! :D

<< The C80 is a very fast printer but the text quality sucks a bit, as for the C60 I haven't seen one yet so I can't say anything 'bout it.

The advantage of the C70/C80 is that they use separate ink tanks, so probably will be cheaper to maintain than the C60.
>>

^^^this dude is a hardcore toker. I have the c80 and it is really badass. It prints extremely fast, crisp text. It also does very well with color photos or prints - photopaper looks awesome
