Hi Everyone,

Was wondering if anyone owned the EPSON 900 printer andwould like to share their thoughts about this printer. I'm in the market for a photo printer. Appreciate any comments or suggestions. :)

I have had one for about 7 months. I print a lot of literature and it has worked well. A couple additional comments.

1>This printer is very fast for inkjet.
2>Find cheaper ink cartridges. I get mine from L&M for a quarter the price.
3>Cleans heads often when printer is left on all the time.

Been happy with it so far.

Clean the print heads often when OFF most of the time also.

Thanks for all the great info, One more question though, How is it compared with the HP 932C in photo printing? 99% of the time i'll be printing photos with this printer cause i got a laserjet 4 to do my text. Any comments or suggestions are welcome. Thanks in advance.

just a rough idea, but why not get a photoprinter instead (now that you have a lazerjet?)

photoprinters are way too expensive. they're in the $400 range where as the inkjets its only $130 dollars. :)

I have the hp 930 and it is great! Supposedly the epson has 6 colors instead of four like the hp. I have never compared the difference in a print side by side. I do know that the hp has much better text quality. You also get new print heads on every print cartridge. Check out this site because they really know the differences espeically in the forum. I think they tend to think the 930 is the overall better deal.

LEXMARK Z52, if you have a nother printer for text, and have a cheap ink source, its a photo printing power house, Only prob i have with it wont let itself be shared thru a peer to peer network, we called lexmark on that, and they realized that they hadnt tried it over a peer to peer, and we had found a bug. but the print speed is great, (though at max res. a full page print can take a full minute) quality is superb, and unlike some pc photos i've seen, i have pictures of my friends wedding, 6 months old, no fade to the ink. great printer for pic, and pretty fast for b/w but if you do bw alot it'll run you through the black ink quick

i think many people on Dpreview likes the canon 8200, Espon 870, and HP 900 series. Some ppl there seems to be working for each of the 3 company (just my thoughts) anyway its a great place to start when you're shopping for a inkjet printer. I just brought a Epson 870 for $130.00 (after mail-in rebate)
