Epox EP-8KHA+ Memory Problem PLZ Help

If anyone has this particular board did you ever have any trouble with the RAM. I put together my system last night and when I started it up it gave me a C1 error on my Mobo LCD. The manual explains this error as a Detect memory error. The RAM is Mushkin 512 HighPerf CL2 (single module). I did happen to try some DDR from a friend and it gave me the same error, but the memory works on this mobo. All 3 DIMM sockets give me the same error as well if there is no memory in any sockets. If anyone has any suggestions on how to fix this problem or what is causing it please post. Thank you for any help.

I don't have your board but a couple things to check....make sure the RAM is seated properly - some of those DIMM slots can be kinda sticky and double check your RAM voltage setting in the BIOS to make sure it is right.

Do you mean your RAM worked in his board so you know your RAM is ok? If not, try yours in his board and make sure you don't have a dead RAM stick.
 
I had a C1 error with the same motherboard, so i returned my crucial ddr and got new crucial and it worked fine.. Also i might remember reading the manual and it doesn't support cas 2 ddr? just read over the memory part of the manual if you have it... its been a couple of months since i worked with this motherboard.
 
8KHA+ motherboards are notorious for this problem. Mine did the same thing with three different sticks of RAM. I just sold it as non working and made some of my money back.
 
Also have experienced the infamous 'C1'.

Just try some verified RAM modules (that you've tested in another board.) Use only one stick and see what happens. If it continues, RMA it.
 
Thanks for the info guys I was hoping it might be sompthing that simple. Any tips for pushing that thing in there?

I had an identical problem. I had to push the ram in the slot really really hard. I had to try four or five times before it got all the way in there. If you push it hard enough the little white clips that hold it in will actually snap into place by themeselves. I was scared to crack the board but everything worked out fine.

Just make sure you apply even pressure to both ends of the RAM. Don't rock it back and forth if you can help it. Push it down until the clips snap into place.
 
Also, be sure the memory is in the right direction. I just got a new 8KHA+ and the memory will actually lock in place backwards! Be sure the slots in the memory line up. I assumed that if it locked in place it must be in the right way. WRONG! I almost burned up 784 MB of Crucial RAM (Literally). Almost burnt my fingers on it too! Don't be a dumb a$$ like me. Check the slots!

I hear you on that one! I hate putting in memory on brand new boards, seems to be tough, but the Epox has been the hardest too! Like the post above here, make sure they are going in correctly too, I did that once on another board too 🙁 if all is correct RMA that sucker...
