This problem started happening all of a sudden and after a reinstall of windows it still happens.

I have the epox 9npa+ sli and I am using the onboard networking. My internet service is a wireless broadband connection called clearwire (works fine, I take the modem to my computer at work and it is fine).

I like to play alot of Day of Defeat, but my pings are horrible. When I pull up the servers list, there are a few with 60 or less pings. I can connect fine, but my pings once in the game are horrible, usually between 140 and 200....

Any ideas?? My computer is fairly new, 3700+ 7800GT 1Gig Ram

wireless broadband

I believe this right here is where your problem lies. Is the ISP wireless to your house? Is the computer hooked straight to a router or the modem device?

I have to agree here. Most wireless connections are 128 mb/sec. That's horribly slow for gaming. Generally that equates to the ping youre experiencing. I had Ricochet, similar to what you've got and it was terrible for gaming. If you want to get rid of the ping, get a new connection through either a high speed dsl or cable provider (i.e. cox or roadrunner). You'll see a noticeable difference. If you can't for any reason, then youre pretty much out of luck.

I think I am going to ditch the wireless. My computer is hooked right up to the modem. The weird thing is that when I play CS, my pings stay below 100. It only seems to happen in DOD.
