Maybe some of you have run across this before, and might be able to help.
I would like to set the hard drive to power down after 3-4 hrs of inactivity, which I set in the power tab in control panel. However this doesn't do anything.
I then went into the bios and changed the hdd powerdown from disabled to 15 min (since that was the max time) (On previous boards, the OS controlled APM not the bios, so it didn't matter what I had the bios set to)
So after setting the bios hdd power down to 15 min, the hdd would spin down, but would spin down according to the bios, not the OS's setting.
Do I need to change the APM type in the bios to allow the OS to control APM?
any help is always appreciated.
