Never had a better mainboard.

Everyone who likes to buy a new one!
Get it!
It's even better then Asus!

yep, my Epox 8KTA+ (virtually the same as 8KTA2 just not ATA100) its rock solid with 5 PCI cards, GF2 MX, duron 600 @ 1007mhz (9.5*106) and my PC-100 ram is running @ 142 mhz ! 🙂

I also haven't had any problems. If you wanna get a rock solid PC, with not much money to spend. This motherboard is a great choice.

Question for all you ekta2 owners when OC have you played at all with the FSB or do you just stick with the multipliers and voltage tweaks.

I replaced an 8kta2 for an MSI pro2a
and now I am shaking myself wondering why.

The 8kta2 performed predictably and flawlessly
and although the pro2a is far from horrible, it's
not what i'd call issue free.

I don't like the power management of the pro2a (no wake on mouse by default or any way I can find) and my optical usb mouse doesn't seem to like the board (flickers on and off)and doesn't
do it in other systems.

So I guess the moral is to get what works and then just LEAVE IT ALONE.

Having said all that, I think the 8kta3+ will be really yummy with 133mhz fsb
as well as RAID onboard!

GAWD, think I just found my next board of the month.

Another thumbs up for the 8kta2. One question I have is where does the USB header plug in? I cannot find the recepticle on the MB

The only problem I've had with my ep-8kta+ is when I go to a higher multiplier setting and don't have the Vcore set high enough, that's just part of the o/c game. After a DIP switch resetting to a good voltage it's trouble free.

Which is what you want from a mobo,to run things invisibly, like it's not even there. So you can devote your time to the really important things---- like getting to 1gig+.
