Epox 8KHA+ v. Soltek SL-75DRV4

Should I get an Epox 8KHA+ or a Soltek SL-75DRV4? I was going to get an Epox 8KHA+, but then I saw the new board form Soltek. I can't choose. I think they are both great, but I am really undecided. ATA 133 is cool, but I need a stable board. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.

BTW, I need a board for an Athlon XP 2000+

I couldn't be happier with my 8kha+. NO PROBLEMS whatsoever. My only complaint is that the PCB is a boring green.... but Epox made up for it when I discovered the date on the system clock was set correctly in the factory! I was impressed!
 
Just finished upgrading my Iwill KK266-R setup to an Epox 8KHA+ setup. The installation went perfectly and the system is up and running super stable.

My vote goes to the Epox 8KHA+. THinking about by another 8KHA+ for my secondary rig.

 
I agree with the Soltek. I have one...stable for me, though I'm not currently overclocking. Soltek is probably cheaper, has a nice software bundle...and a handy temperature monitor. Only drawbacks...it may be hard to find in the US (but I think Newegg stocks it)...and it doesn't carry the big name/hype of the Epox 😉

 
I have both boards. Take a look at my rigs. I love the way the Epox runs but I had a problem installing ram on all three slots. The Soltek board comes with ATA 133 which is cool but even better I was able to install 3 sticks of crucial ram with no problems. A couple of draw backs with the Soltek is where the IDE connections are located and that I could not install a PAL8045 due to its size. But, you can install a MCX462 perfectly with no mods.

i like both of the boards you listed, but i would pick the soyo dragon+ (same chipset as the ones you listed, kt266a)
 
I was going to get the soyo dragon + (kt266a chipset) because of the features but with all that I have I saved some money buying the epox board. They're both supposed to oc really well too.
 
I have the Soltek and I need a stable mobo like you.. the board does not disappoint... the SL75DRV4 gets my vote here...
 
I got a soltek V2 Reburb from New Egg, the board came with everything , but the RTS sensor was missing, I wrote to soltek Taiwan and this cool guy Lo is sending me one now, with no cost. Soltek support is great.
 
Well the Soltek is a nice board but I have to go with the Epox cause I have built more of them and never had a problem, Of the boards fault, I have used the Alpha and the Swiftech heatsinks on the 8KHA+, Like the Swiftech better but cost more, It would be very hard to find a board that is as fast and stable as the 8KHA+, But I would say you would be happy with either
 
Soltek V2 Purple is fast but the pain is the position of the IDE cables. AHHH!! Big time I got short in my round cables, they are all the way down, I have to buy long ones, and change all the case for get short in the cables. But anyway the mobo is great
 
I like my Epox 8KHA+ a lot it`s one rock stable board and also great overclocker ,you can`t go wrong with either brand IMHO so it may be down to features & price,btw the Epox 8KHA+ can have all 3 sticks of ram installed just ask Insane3D 😉,
 
I just recently built a computer using the Soltek SL-75KAV, which has the KT133 chipset. Not the same board your looking at, but I can say this is the most stable computer I've ever had, and have made changes in other hardware effortlessly. I'm considering the DRV version myself, to get the DDR memory upgrade.

Only problem I ran into, which holds true for many motherboards out there, I am using Thermaltakes Volcano7, had to cut a corner off to fir around one of the capacitors, (or whatever that thing is 🙂. BTW, clicked the button to use Redstorm Overcloking, boosted my speed, and adjusted all the timings automatically. No Brainer here.

 
First,......don't shoot me, ok. I'm putting together the parts for my first build, and I have this question? I hear alot of good things about the Epox 8KHA+, but then in the motherboard forums, here and on other website's forums users are complaining about this and that is wrong with their 8KHA+. I'm sure all the boards can't be bad, but I've got to put down the cash, you know what I mean? The board sounds great. Remember, don't shoot me. Bob535
 
Soltek SL-75DRV4 very good overclocker and stable as well. The software and cool purple pcb make it a bonus to be a winner.
 
Bob535, if you don't want any problems, get the SL-75DRV4.. the board works like a charm... and it's cheap! it really rocks...
