EPOX 8KHA+ owners UPDATE ITS FIXED!!!!!!!!!!

Its fixed, i just took everything out again put new standoffs in the case, made sure the screws fit properly and the pushed in the RAM as hard as i could. and now its fixed

still not sure if it was a problem with the standoffs grounding out or if the Ram wasnt in all the way, anyway i guess it dosent matter now

FF means its fine I believe. MIne boots no problem and that is the code I get when it is booted. Try reseating the vid card a few more times and make sure it is in the slot REAL good. Same with the ram.
I had a similar problem last nite with my Lttle Dawg Rig. Went to bed pissed. Woke up this am and it booted no problem. Go figure.

Many round here would say that a 250W PSU is insufficient. 300W at minimum.

(I had the same FF problem at first, until I realized after a couple of hours that my PSU shipped with the voltage set at 230V instead of 115V...duh)

It is possible the power supply is the problem. However, since you're just using a generic video card, and the CPU is an XP, I kind of doubt that is the problem. I would guess that your video card or memory is not seated properly. Make sure all cards are seated properly. Also, make sure that all power connectors are plugged in correctly and firmly. Beyond that, I would take it to your local vendor and have them take a look at it.

i just took everything out and put it back together, now im getting a code of C1, which is calling out the memory. i have reseated it, taken one of the DIMM's out, taken both DIMM's out, tried other memory all to no avail. and i still dont get anything on my moniter. I have also tried another EPOX 8kha+ mother board, this is driving me nuts.

oh, ya, its also constantly beeping now about once a second




is there a jumper on the board i have to set before i turn it on? i looked through the manual but i cant find anything

I had similar problem with my Asus K7M (Athlon600). Everything was plugged, but there was no image on monitor, no beeps nothing.
Finally, it was a bad board and got it changed.

im sure its not the board because i have an identical one that i changed it out with and i had the same prob.

i have the right RAM pc2100 ddr

Is your RAM ECC (shouldn't be)? Or are you mixing unbuffered and registered ram?

ok people this might not be a epox related problem at all. Please check the check list below.

Before you do anything make sure only cpu, mobo, memory, and video card in connected. take out anything else.

1, See if you have too many stand off screws on the buttom of the motherboard. If so that them away. You only need a few don't even need all you can see from the mobo.

2, see if the mobo is granded in too many place with the case, try to put the plastic sheet that came with the board, under the mobo before install.

3, swap the memory in different slot.

4, if none of the above workes take the mobo out of the box, do it outside the box connect those things mention above, see what you get. If still not working see the buttom of the mobo for damaged part, or trace.

Unfortunately, your problem with 8KHA+ isn't at all uncommon. Many, many people (including myself) have experienced this and other similiarly frustrating problems with these boards. It appears quality control has taken a slide, as they aren't what I expected after the venerable 8K7A.

I had the same board and processor, tried everything including pulling it out of the case to preclude a short. RMA'd it and got an MSI KT266A board that works fine.

your ram isnt seated properly. im sure you think it is, but really push down on the DIMM(s) until you hear a slight crunching sound. you may have to do this a couple times and then boot. everything should be fine.

You might be better off RMAing the board for a replacement,my ram went it pretty easy on my Epox board,anyway if reseating the ram few times does not work a new board will be your best bet,btw I would not use a 250w PSU myself.

ive pushed down as hard as i dare on the RAM, I can hear it locking into place and the white clips also snap into place, i am at a loss

try setting the FSB jumper to 100 instead of 133 and set to 133 in bios

try this swap out your video card...if that dont work ..put in a pci video card..if that worked go in the bios and change video settings..also make sure your cpu fan is in the right plug in on the mobo board
