Epox 8kha+ northbridge fan not working.

my epox's boards northbridge fan does not work.. i guess it's been quite some time now since it wasn't working when i opened the case today. but the system works fine.
do you guys think i will need to replace this? has anyone had problem due to fan not working? thanks in advance.

btw, i have alpha 8045 with panaflow on cpu,
4 panaflow fans on my antec1030 case,
and 2 fans on my enermax PSU.

if you have enough case fans, you shouldn't need it. If you o/c a lot though, you might want a fan directly on it.

If ya poke around enough you'll find quite a few people are having issues with the northbridge fan on the epox. You can get a replacement from epox, just e-mail. Mine got extremely noisiy after about 2 weeks. Anyway, you can run it without the fan, but I wouldn't suggest any overclocking.
Real shame they threw a cheapo pos fan on an otherwise nice board.

This faily fan will *maybe* decrease your board's overclockability. If your system works fine, why do you mind for that?

do you still have the number for epox support? i looked through their RMA support, but looks like they only do support for direct costomers... otherwise we have to call our distributor. which for me is Newegg. so do i need to call Newegg??

btw, i don't overclock and and have enought case fans. so not too worried about it. but it kinda bothers me that fan that suppose to working does not.

But I decided to replace mine with something other then another one of thier potentially crappy fans, so I went with THIS instead.
I just don't want to have to replace it again if they send the same sleeved bearing fan. I hate opening up my case too often(bad thing eventually happen , ie slipped screw driver)
My peice of mind is worth more then $6 (plus S&H)

Got to thinking Hollowman, I think I'd try Newegg first, mainly because their response time would probably be quicker.

I was just about to start a new thread on this when the search finally turned up this post. I've got the same problem here...I just filled out the online form...I guess they will contact me. Thank you guys for the info!
