I am trying to install a clean copy of winxp but I keep getting a error during the beginning of the setup. It says a problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer. It says to check for viruses, remove any newly installed hard drives or hard drive controllers. Then it says stop 0x0000007b

What am I doing wrong???????

What's the rest of your hardware?

Is this a retail copy of XP? Pro or Home?

Do you have any other OS'es at your disposal? Try another.

Do you have the latest BIOS from Epox?

I have a Sound Blaster Live, Geforce2 GTS, and a 3com network card.

It is the Pro upgrade of Winxp.

I have tried Win98 se but it can't run the setup from the cd for some reason!

Yes I have the latest bios.

Well I think I found the problem. I had a dvd-rom drive as the slave on the secondary ide port and a cdr drive as the master on that secondary ide port. I disconnected the dvd-rom drive and it is so far installing okay now. Anyone know why it did this???
