EPOX 8K7A problem fixed?

I posted about 1 to 2 months ago explaining the problems I had with this MB. I have already returned a mobo and a 1.33GHz chip due to I got nothing! Just the "FF" and "00" codes on the readout directly upon power up. Even a new Epox 8K7A and a new 1.33 Ghz CPU got nothing! Well I went away for a week and a friend of mine looked at it. Well he hooked it up to his daughters computer's 230W power supply (just the Mobo, RAM, and Video Card) and the damn thing posted! It ran thru all the boot up codes and setteled up on "FF" . He could not get it to do anything with the harddrive (Seagate Barracuda 40G) or Floppy, I take it the 230W has it's limits, I guess.

I was using the 300W PS that came with my case (Antec SX830). I am going to buy a 350W PS and check that out. Strange!

I know there has been some problems with this board, but has anyone fixed their problems by moving to a greater wattage PS?

I hope this is the answer! 🙂

i used to have to wait ~20min after shutting the computer off before i could restart it. that problem has been fixed with the latest bios update.

i don't know if ALL problems have been fixed, but it fixed MY problems.

Go to amdmb.com and look under Forums. There they have Epox MB's. You will find a lot of good suggestions in buying a PSU for the 8k7a+. Just stay away from Enermax. Good PSU but not for 8k7a.
