:frown:

Instead of sleeping last night, I decided to install this board. On bootup, the bios starts, recognizes the cpu (1.33mHz, 133fsb), recognizes the ram (2 sticks of Crucial 256mb pc2100), recognizes all four hardrives on IDE1 and IDE2, but then the error - Checksum Error-loading defaults - comes up and the pc hangs. I can't even get into the bios. The two LED's on the motherboard read 7F.

The only other hardware connected to the motherboard is a Visiontek Geforce3 and the floppy. All jumpers are set to default except for JCLK1 which is set to 2-3 (for the 133fsb). I've tried clearing the cmos by moving the JP1 jumper from 1-2 to 2-3 and back, but I still get the same error on reboot.

Anyone have any ideas.

hmm

I put my board in the box, hooked video, mem, only up to it
as I'm not ready to pull out everything from other system
til the weekend.

My mobo also reads 7f, which is not detailed in the manual
but I'm able to access bios just fine

I'd contact Epox.........I hope I don't get the same error.

Actually, I had the same problem with the 8AK7 "check-sum-errors", whee I started to oc, I immediately got it.

Fixed the problem. I found the solution on the amdmb.com message boards. I reseated the battery and rebooted. On reboot, the "checksum error-loading defaults" error still came up, but this time my keyboard was working and I was able to get into the bios. Without changing anything, I rebooted again and everything worked, no more checksum error and no more 7F on the led's.
