and even at 145fsb..it's not stable...

currently at 11x138
i wanna higher fsb & lower multiplier for higher sandra mem benchmarks heh

sdram timings:
8862222 <-- i wanna keep this setting

using 2x256 crucial pc2100 ddr 2.5ns

any ideas?

Have you tried 9x150 or something? multiplier's too high. could also be the "twin" crucial PC2100. getting two of them working correctly is more difficult than with just one.

Hmmmm you ram is NOT 2.5 ns. it's cas2.5 and youre runing it at cas2. Thats your problem try al lose the timings and if you can get higher than the ram is the problem.

Use these timings for almost no loss in performance. 8-8-8-2-2-2-2 It will work, trust me. Should be able to get atleast 155 I believe.

8K7A@175MHz CAS2

Ummm...how exactly are you doing that? The last I checked the 8K7A FSB tops out @ 166mhz...😕

i lost the ram settings...
upped the ddr voltage
upped the i/o voltage

still no luck

John says it's the faulty northbridge on my mb?

any thoughts?

xSuicidaLx, as I remember, is using CPUFSB to set his fsb to higher than 166fsb. xSuicidaLx, can you tell me what settings I need to use in that program? The 8K7A is not a listed motherboard, and I have no idea what PLL chip this sucker is using.

post crazy results and leave? that memory is only spec'd to hit 133, and although most crucial will go higher, there is nothing saying that it will. you could just have poor memory. I am going to get corsair PC2400 just in case.

edit: there is a pool of drool on my keyboard at the thought of 2.5ns ram

Even though Crucial's PC2100 is only rated to hit 133MHz @ CAS2.5, it will generally run perfectly fine at 145+ @ CAS2.

Try:

- turning system performance to "normal" in the BIOS.
- pumping up the DDR voltage
- making sure you've set the default FSB speed to 133MHz (if it's set at 100MHz, you PCI divider is only 3, meaning your PCI devices are far more likely to be bringing you down.

if you tried lowering the multiplier, and adjusting the voltage for the processor/DDR, try taking out all non-essential PCI cards out, ive heard of problems when running the FSB too high with PCI cards though this should not be a problem @ 145, and 2 DIMMS might be a problem

I have a really cheap NIC, is that likely to go down? Aside from that, I only have a SBL Value! and a GeForce2 Pro which overclocks pretty well, although should Iset it back to defaults if I hope to get to 150...?
