hey guys, i just finished building my new pc and I realized I have a revision 1.0 board !!! (Suprised, since its July and the mobo was manufactured in march) anyways, i was wondering, I hear there is a difference in the onboard sound or something, since I am using a sb live 5.1 anyways, that is not a big deal, but is there any performance differences in the boards?

(I have the KT333CE chip so thats not a problem).

Do you guys think I should bitch mwave out about giving me a old revision... hmmm................

thanks

I wouldn't unless it was specifically advertised as being a 1.1 board. :)

When I was shopping around for this board, I looked at mwave, and they specifically had the revision 1.1 boards labeled separately from the revision 1.0 boards. I think the only difference is that the 1.0 boards have regular stereo sound, while the 1.1 boards have the 6-channel sound, but I could be wrong.

In any case, I don't think there's anything you can do other than return the board (if you can) and buy the one labeled that it's a revision 1.1 board. If you can't return the board, there's always the option of selling it in the fs/ft forums.

There are various rumors and disagreements on if there has been a different rev to the KT333 chip or not. I've seen where the KT333CE is the new version, and I've seen where there was ONLY the KT333CE.

In hundreds of messages on this subject, the only variation that I have heard folks discuss it the sound improvements.

I would suggest running madionion's benchmarks and see if you are close to others. I wouldn't worry about it. The hassle of return is not worth it unless you could get the KT53 or whatever the new board is that is not even out yet.

well i checked the northbridge and its KT333CE chip so thats not a problem. if onboard sound is the only thing then funk it.

as long as sound is the only diff i dont care.
