Does anyone have one of these? how do you like it? Where did you buy it?

I am looking at getting one of these... and @ first glance, the stores I usually buy from have no listing of this thing in stock. I am not really sure if it's out there yet, but I was wondering.. it's on the EPoX site and all.

Does anyone have any insight? Just looking for a tiny little review from someone who has it, how much they paid, and where they picked it up...

thx alot.
cheers.

I don't think it'll do much more than the Asus P4Pe, but I'm bias. I know Epox has always had great stabililty and support.

Just ordered the 4PEA+ from Directron.com

I'm sure I'll end up posting my findings... :D

It looks almost identical to my 4G4A+, so please let us know how the board performs for you. I was interested to see that Epox has added back the 12v connector, so let us know how stable the voltage is.

Have fun!:)

How do you like your 4G4A? I thought this 4PEA looked freaking awesome... had to get it !!!! I'm not sure what the CPU will be yet. I may end up with a 2.0A for overcocking lovin'! :D

I am very happy with my 4G4A+. It overclocks great and the latest bioses perform better than the original.

This board is just loaded with features (RAID, LAN, Audio, Video) and they all work great, even though the RAID controller is the only integrated feature I am using at the moment.

The only complaint I have is that it is really a pain to get the 3:4 ratio to work at high FSB. But that is an issue with the 845G chipset, and not this particular board. Right now I am hitting a wall at 157 fsb, but I am still trying. The board performs a little better at 2.82 GHz with the 3:4 ratio than at 2.89 with the 4:5. I really wanted to see 3 GHZ, but this CPU just isn't up to it with 1.75 vcore (Intel recommends no more than 1.75 volts on a Northwood).

For a CPU, I would stronly recommend a 1.8A. I had one for a little while, and it would do 2.5 GHz on stock voltage. I am guessing it would have made it to 2.7-2.8 with more juice. Since the 3.06 is out, CPU prices are coming down and you may want to go for a 2.66 C1, if you can afford it. That should get you up around 3.2 GHz.

I ran a 1.8A in a P4B533 mobo @ 2.8 GHz at only .5 voltage increase.. it ran at default voltage but turned unstable... so yeah... AMAZING overclocker.
I imagine I'll end up with a 2.0A just to have a 2GHz CPU since it's only like $30 more (Canadian) and will overclock just as good.

I hope it does overclock well for you. I had a 2.0 but it wouldn't even do 2.7 so I sold it. If prices keep coming down, I may try a faster CPU, maybe even a c1 stepping.

Aw man... the 1.8 was running 2.8 and I hadn't even pushed further.. after 3 days of SETI @ 2.8 GHz I figured it was pretty damn stable.

I am excited for the mobo to get here.
