For the UT2004 gamers, this is pretty nice of Epic.

"Epic Games Announce the UT2004 Mega Pack!

On Tuesday, Epic Games will be releasing Unreal Tournament 2004 Mega Pack! This new bonus pack includes five assault levels, two deathmatch levels, and two capture the flag levels. In addition, the Mega Pack contains all the ECE bonus pack content, as well as the latest (3369) patch - everything you need to make sure your UT2004 install has all the latest official content. Going to have to reinstall it after this comes out. Main reason i do not play it is because i have to download levels on nearly all the servers i play on.

I LOVE EPIC AND I LOOOVE UNREAL TOURNAMENT! this is probably one of the best fps shooters of all time :)

i loved the original unreal tournament.
they did something to the 2k3 and 2k4 versions that made it suck. duno what it was, but i could never get into anything past the original.

That's what I liked about the original UT. I'm finding it harder and harder to resist the urge to buy 2k4. The fact that I'm poor right now keeps me at bay :p

My copy just came in the mail 30 minutes ago :D I've played this game for months against bots and it's just so much fun I had to snatch up the legit version to try it only. Costs less then $20 bucks shipped many places so look around and pick it up.

Yep. Lots of new, official content to download AND they always seem to remove the CD checks from the game after it has been out for a while.

Damn, i'm glad to see people getting into this even after a year & a half.

I have to say, every new multiplayer game i try just doesn't compare.


Everything from the constant updates from Epic, the huge community, the mods, the lack of needing a CD (IIRC, the first patch allowed no CD :D), the menus, especially for multiplayer are seriously the best laid out of any multiplayer game i've ever played.

Seriously, i have tried to get into so many newer games, like HL2 DM, FEAR, Painkiller, even Q4, & they all piss me off in some way or another.

I really need to redo the thread i had about Ut2k4 usernames, & what everyone here plays for gamemodes.

Well, I didn't initially get into it because the demo did not impress me. I found it too easy. But then I have yet to meet a bot I couldn't beat. UT has the best bots, by far, though. The mods have always been great too. I stuck to SoF2(best FPS ever!) when UT2k4 came out. SoF2 has almost lost all of it's fanbase now though, so it's time to move on. Not really any other good CTF games out there.

No offense to you meant, but bots don't compare to real people :p

In fact, i'm kinda finding that UT2k4 is getting a bit frustrating due to that very thing.

There are pretty much two categories of UT2k4 players.

The n00bs (or those who just don't do well with twitch fps games), & teh skilled.

The thing is, since the total number of ppl playing 2k4 these days is alot less than it was originally, you can either play with the pros or the n00bs.

I tend to try to play with those who are good, but damn, it's too easy to get pwned by them, & pwning n00bs isn't so much fun either.

All i'm gonna say is that you're likely gonna find the learning curve steep...but that's the beauty of the game :)
