Look at it this way. There are 4 models of iPhones in 4 years. 4 models of iPod Touches over 4 years. 2 models of iPads in 2 years. So a total of 10 devices in 4 years. While 10 Android devices are released every 6 months. It's a lot harder to make sure that everything will run on every device because of the hardware differences.

Not sure what you're running on your Droid. Clearly the majority of people have different experiences than you.

Like I said, if you don't compare head to head, you'll never notice:

it's easy to say "oh my device is fine"

The Angry Birds is hard to see becuase Youtube does 30fps. I filmed with a 60fps camera for this purpose but Youtube changes it back to 30fps, so you can't really see the Angry Birds lag as well.... but the Google Maps lag is CLEAR.

Noteworthy quotes:

Summary: Google needs to close Android up.

Quick note: this ISN'T about Android vs other platforms or Android phones vs other phones! And it definitely has nothing to do with a certain fruit-themed company or its products!

Well of course! The developers would love nothing more than there to be only ONE platform that everyone uses for everything. That way they'd only have to develop their product for that platform, and they could save time and money. But the real market doesn't work that way. Android is gobbling up marketshare on a daily basis... and if the developers want to reach that market, they need to suck it up and do the work.
