Because a policy of blind full disclosure is foolish, not to mention it's being done under a wholly disingenuous guise. Whether it's done any real damage yet or not is beside the point; I don't want people shooting guns in the air just because the bullets haven't hit anyone yet.

If a government didn't have some villains, they wouldn't be a country to govern. Ever seen that South Park episode about the pro/anti war protesters? It works out kinda like that. Balance is what lets a country survive.

I have a hard time wrapping my head around the fact someone actually believes this, all the while accusing someone else of being blind lol. And what experience or happening at any point in human history would make you think we'd actually get to a point of mutual understanding? Human history is huge stripes of war and conflict with minor punctuations of peace, and even now there are relatively 'civilized' people every day who fight over absolutely nothing and constantly screw each other over.
