Cube U30GT (RK3066, Mali 400 MP4)

High quality 1280*752

26.5 fps

Based on those SGS 3 scores I expected better. Is the Mali 400 MP4 OC of the SGS3 really that faster than the vanilla version?

The CPU is also much faster in the S3. I think its probably a combination of the much better CPU and faster clock rates of the GPU. Drivers could impact this as well.

Seconded. I would have expected the RK3066 to do much better, being a reference Cortex A9 design too.

Thanks.

My LG 4X scores 38fps, high quality, 1280x720 and that's with the Tegra 3 clocked at 1Ghz.

At stock 1.5Ghz speed, it scored 43.6fps at the same settings.

I am using micro cpu monitor to monitor core activity and it showed only one core being active while the benchmark was running.

So comparing the RK 3066 with the Exynos 4 Quad, the only difference in this benchmark should be the gpu speed, since they are both ARM 9 and my RK 3066 runs at 1.6Ghz and the Exynos 4 Quad runs at 1.5Ghz if I am not mistaken.

This benchmark seems to be specifically tailored to be gpu limited. A quick search revealed that RK 3066's Mali 400 MP4 runs at 250Mhz and the Exynos 4's runs at 400Mhz, which is a substantial difference and it could explain my results.

Not sure what drivers can do in this case. These are fix functioned units, aren't they?

Note 2 (stock):

Average FPS: 45.7
Resolution: 1280x720
Performance: High Quality

On a separate note from these scores:
The interior of the cathedral is a chopfest on my note2.
At least when panning over the reflective surface.
If it were a game, it would be well into unplayable.
Not sure how they mask that so well for the demo/benchmark.

B&N Nook HD+

1920x1196

43.9
[The above is running modified stock BN]

Below is running CM10

Newer Note 2 drivers fix this. On the latest R3P1 drivers Citadel shows 56.4 fps average, vsync lock in the cathedral.

Yeah, all the new phones can nail 60FPS (any scores lower is just an artifact). I wonder how it'd run without the shackles of vsync.
