They thought they owned me by quoting the the Obama administration was going to give them an exemption and they didn't, but like you stated, the fact of the matter is, they have to regulate in their scope and powers given to them by CONGRESS, not Obama. They can't just determine one of those scopes is no longer valid till congress passes a law to that effect. So the first posts in this thread, again were nothing but right wing poster circle jerk about a system they have little understanding of.

You did get owned, and you could have avoided it by actually reading the article. This is well beyond Congress.

no suprise. just another law that is not really going to hurt big business yet kill off small ones. This is just another example of a bad law and the government wanting to fix it. Far to many laws are aimed at protecting big business.

why do people read crieg? really no matter what it is he is going to post pro democrat stuff.

It's sad, that well-funded propaganda works so well.

Save234

And you're living proof of it.

Instead of the pot calling the kettle black, you're more like the Jim Jones pot standing on a busy street corner calling everything that walks by you black.

It's not up to the EPA. They're following the law. Congress has to change the law.

If I'm reading that article correctly it's not the law it's the way EPA is stretching the rule to fit the law. One of the criteria is "it must have the capacity to store more than 1,320 gallons of oil in aboveground tanks". Milk is not oil but does contain a very small percentage of animal fat which contains oil. It sounds like the EPA is using this rule for milk because they think it can be damaging to the ecosystem. Not as damaging as poison or actual oil but it would still kill off fish in streams if it spills in large quantities.

1320 gallons of oil and less than an a fluid ounce of oil per gallon of milk? so how many gallons of milk can be stored above ground before it reaches 1320 gallons of oil?

There is oil in vegetables too? So what? Ever heard of corn Oil?

OH SNAP TIME TO REGULATE EVERYTHING!!! I mean anything that has fat has an oil in it right? I hope the EPA steps in before we have the great pork spill of 2011.

I've seen the results of a hotdog/butter warehouse fire. It wasn't pretty. Hotdog grease and hot butter pouring into a nearby wetland, ducks coated with oil.

Here's one pic.

How do we dispose of the dead? Can't bury them. Can't incinerate them. Clearly we need more regulation in this area.

What about those folks with oily skin? Where's all that going, Huh,huh?

Tuna packed in oil? Verboten.

Clearly, this is an untapped area of possible regulation, anything with oil in it should be regulated. That includes just about anything, think of the vast expanse of EPA power and waste that could be achieved! ;)

This is really insane, hopefully congress can fix this, but I'm not holding my breath.

Milk spill requires "containment" and "procedures"? Hmm.. are they worried about the influx of cats after a spill?

I guess... if this is what we'd be facing after a milk spill, I'd consider regulating the hell out of it too:

That was my thought too. Seems like an easy out to the regulation right there

Coming soon to a grocery store near you: MSDS sheets for Wesson.

Ha!

JESUS CHRIST THINK OF ALL THE POLLUTION!

We need to pass legislation that will make it illegal to die and we will have the EPA regulate it.

I think the EPA sometimes does some pretty good stuff. But I can't rid myself of this mental picture, of top al-Qaeda leadership reading this article and saying "Dayum, those EPA folks really know how to destroy the American economy! They are HARD CORE! Why can't you guys do shit like that?" :(
