Upgrading to Logitech USB optical mouse and it will not correctly install. Win98 installs a generic driver for it and then the mouse does not opewrate at all. Any suggestions?

Did you make sure your computer was on when you plugged in your mouse?
USB should be plugged in with the power on.
Try to unplug and replug with the power on.

If this does not work,
Hold down the windows key and hit the break key.
Choose the device manager tab.
Highlight all mice and remove them from the system.
shut down.
unplug your mouse.
reboot.
plug in your mouse.
When it tries to install drivers. Point it to your Logitech drivers.

If this does not do it, go back into the device manager, right click your mouse and choose properties and choose to update your drivers.

I hope this helps.
