not sure. I haven't heard of any conditions like this in the US or elsewhere. And it is no secret that depleted uranium is being used by Americans in it's many unwinable wars.

I have seen some of those pictures before as well...there was a baby born somewhere in Asia a few weeks back that had a rare birth defect syndrome...forgot the name of it...where the child is born premature and essentially looked like an alien...links for that condition led to many of the pictures, or ones like them, on that blog.
