Great find! Awesome price on an LCD! Not to thread crap, because this is going to be a great deal for some people (particularly those using it mostly for business purposes), but the newer model, the 5100e, has a 50ms response time, so the response time on this one is probably the same or worse (meaning it probably doesn't do well with moving images). The 5100 also has 200 nits brightness and 200:1 contrast ratio, so it's not exactly a high end LCD. But, at that price it's not exactly an expensive LCD, either. I'm going to think about it. Would love to hear from someone who owns one how it does with FPS games and DVD movies.

The envision 17 inch lcd is at a fairly good price as well. Should be about 490ish after coupon. The trouble is my Staples never sells any of these things. I've got lots of stock on everything. You wouldn't believe how many cendyne burners i have lying around.

Low response time (~30ms or less, rise and fall)
High contrast ratio (~300:1 or better)
are two of the specs I look for.

Too bad this wasn't a Rad5 going for 260, I would definitely consider it then...but still a decent deal on a decent LCD.

I sent an e-mail message to Envision this morning and asked them what the response time is on the 5100 (not the 5100e). They responded remarkably quickly and said it is 50ms. That means under adverse conditions you get 20 FPS, which rules out the monitor for me. That's not to say others wouldn't be happy with it, though. Lots of people reviewing it on Amazon seem to like it, for what that's worth. You do see comments sprinkled here and there about ghosting, though.

Interesting side note, perhaps. Nowhere on that rebate form do I see any mention of a limit for how many rebates you can get. Either that, or I'm seeing it and not seeing it!! LOL

Might be nice to grab two, if finances permit, and enjoy a rebate on both!

I have this lcd on my gaming machine and couldn't be happier. I'm not a hardcore gamer by any means and I do lots of neffing for the most part. I got this lcd even cheaper a while back with staples $100 instant off lcd coupon and a rebate of some odd amount I can't remember

Just got it from the UPS guy this morning. It looks ok, but I noticed a problem, isn't LCD supposed to be flat? But instead this Envision display is kind of concave inward in the middle. It's very obvious and a little annoying to look at. So can someone tell me if this is the way it is or am I getting a busted LCD and should go get an exchange.

LCD's are usually completely flat so I would definately exchange it!
