Entirely too much profanity on the forums.

Mods et al.,
. Lately I have seen a proliferation of the use of the f-word (e.g. fvcking, fuc*ing etc.) with only one letter missing or exchanged in thread titles and messages - where its use is not necessary at all. Few of the other "words you can't use on TV" are not found in one posting or another. Also the number of profane 'Handles' (e.g. Snatchface, Ballsack, etc.) is growing.
. Is this level of juvenile profanity acceptable in public forums and to the Mods? I certainly hope not...

and what would you propose?

Should we do away with fvck, f*ck, or my personal favorite fark?

then they will just come up with something else

I could see the point in banning swear words, but come on banning almost swear words??? I mean WTF is wrong with a couple of almost swear words to display an emphasis on something. It is done in every day language including the younger crowd. This is part of their vocabulary...then again zepper sounds like zipper, which is used to undo your pants(this is bad)....or zepper sounds like zeppelin, which the Nazi's used and might offend the jewish people...

hopefull you will see where i am going on this.

I don't know which is more juvenile, the users of the so-called "profanity", or the people that can't deal with it.

in your sig it says:

"He who dares not offend cannot be honest. "

Maybe people use these words because it's how they honestly feel?

It is very prevalent, so much so that it is probably not feasible to 'police' effectively should the mods even choose to do so. Just like in real life, it is a reflection of the person's immaturity and/or lack of ability to express themselves without resorting to profanity. I hear profanity more in open public, and it seems that AT is a reflection of same. At least here I don't have to worry about my young children being subjected to it, unlike in other public places. A search on "WTF" in ATOT titles alone reaps quite a payload, must be a popular phrase amongst the collegiate crowd, lol.

it's just another word with which people can express how they feel. i really don't see the big deal about "profanity". they are just words people, they're not going to jump out and rape you or eat your food or fondle your neighbor.

there are many words that are unnecessarily used, should the mods just go through and delete them all? *cough* newspeak *cough*

seriously, what are you from germany or something, why are you so quick to censor?

All manner of low culture is increasingly being tolerated - that doesn't mean it's a good idea. One either supports manners and high culture or he supports the other way and contributes to the further degeneration of American society. Apparently the majority of responders here must be Clinton apologists...
. I do confront such noise pollution in my surroundings and punctuate it with a spark from my 90kV stun gun if they don't get the message.

Most often, to offend is to tell the straight truth as one sees it - which does not require gutter language to accomplish (or trying to bend the meaning of 'is').bh.

Just like a Republican.

Frankly there is only one phrase that would aptly describe how little I actually think of you and your posts. Of course that might offend your precious little ears so I will refrain from using it.

BTW, see you next tuesday.
