When did this happen and why didn't anyone tell me!

Does anyone know if they have been made compatible to work correctly with modern systems (xp/vista)?

I'm guessing if they're on Steam, then they should definitely work with XP/Vista.

Tested the first one so far and it works like a dream :D It's using DOSBox for emulation. I read all but TFTD work flawelessly under Vista. TFTD has some glitches, but I browsed through the Steam forums and it seems the Steam crew is working hard on making it fully compatible. Can't wait to find some time and play Apocalypse again! :D

EDIT: Now if only they would do the same for Warhammer 40k: Chaos Gate (ie. release it on Steam)... Perhaps one day...

They had a deal on the whole series this weekend. I think it was like $14.99 for all of the games.

I bought them but none of the ran for me in vista x64. x-com ran, but was very slow and not really playable. TFTD did not run at all. apocalypse ran, but with severe glitches and choppiness making it unplayable as well. :(

Was it only this weekend? Is the deal still on?

Dam, I loved that first game. I'm not sure if I could past the dated graphics but I still might try to take it out for a spin again.

15$ for the pack. The special deal is 10% off during the first week (so 13,5$).

I ran the first X-Com on my old P-D 2.8GHz and Vista x64 and it ran great. There is a slight delay between the sound and the picture, nothing big though. However, TFTD didn't want to start. Will try the games on my Quad later this week.

Bought the pack last night... tried Enforcer on Vista 64, AMD Duallie, HD4870 (8.8's) and it worked fine.. sounded awful though.

Muahahhaha, I'm research Psi-Lab right now. Mind controlling aliens is the best thing about this game.

Wow, those were great.

I played the original on XP; even hacked the startup batch file so you could jump into the middle of the game without the startup codes. Beat it, too!

XCOM underwater version was too buggy to finish, though. :( Never tried the third one.

Yup, I have to remind myself that Apocalypse is the third Xcom, and not the second. The co-worker that had got me (and other co-workers) pysched about Xcom 1, had bought XCom2:TFTD and his discriptive play reports on Monday mornings had me convinced to skip that one.

In Apocalypse, once I got the Disrupter researched, if any Corp turned against me, I would 'bankrupt' them (i.e. extreme negative cash balance) by repeating raiding them and collapsing their buildings (i.e. over many many turns, shoot out every block on the bottom tier, with the upper tiers eventually doing a 'demolition'). Why? Because I could.

I forget the name of the Corp that had the 9 tiered HQ with the four corner pillars, but I liked collapsing that building, the most.
