It's supposed to be. TNG was utopian; the great life of the 24th century, where everyone lived in harmony. This is the 22nd century, where there's 1 ship, and damn near every alien is trying to destroy it, and with 1 species bent on destroying Earth outright. You would be a little pissed too, wouldn't you?Originally posted by: Stealth1024
Is it just me or has the series turned a little dark? Even the bridge seems a little dark compared to the bright lights of the Entperise and light colors.

didn't they have a similar sphere in TNG where Captain Scott was in a crashed shuttle and was saved from a transporter buffer?

I've liked them all so far, even the first season. The military peeps on board are there because they are on a mission to find out who's attacking earth, and why, and what can they do to stop it. After the timetravel episode at the end of the season where everything is made right, they'll be gone too.
<- Hates Time Travel fixes to plots.
