Haven't seen it yet, but from this description:

"Waves of destructive anomalies cripple the Enterprise"

It sounds like a TNG episode. A good one. :)

Is it just me or has the series turned a little dark? Even the bridge seems a little dark compared to the bright lights of the Entperise and light colors.

And I like the captain who has an energetic first officer to do all the dirty work, Janeway I can see since her first officer was killed and she was pretty new... but Picard sat on the bridge always fully composed and cool headed...

It's supposed to be. TNG was utopian; the great life of the 24th century, where everyone lived in harmony. This is the 22nd century, where there's 1 ship, and damn near every alien is trying to destroy it, and with 1 species bent on destroying Earth outright. You would be a little pissed too, wouldn't you?

didn't they have a similar sphere in TNG where Captain Scott was in a crashed shuttle and was saved from a transporter buffer?

That sphere was a lot bigger. This one was 12km. that one encircled an entire star system.

That was a Dyson Sphere, a structure that enclosed an entire star for the energy provided. This is just a spherical structure built for the heck of it.

I've liked them all so far, even the first season. The military peeps on board are there because they are on a mission to find out who's attacking earth, and why, and what can they do to stop it. After the timetravel episode at the end of the season where everything is made right, they'll be gone too.

<- Hates Time Travel fixes to plots.

Considering Berman and Braga dont even know whats going to happen, I dont think you can conclude that it will be a giant "reset" button.

Kinda like in school when I had to do a 500 word story and got 11 words from the end.... "and then I woke up and it was all a dream"
