Entering "My Computer" & Computer Freezes? (SOLVED)

My Ma at home is running Windows 2000 Pro. SP2.

When she enters "My Computer" on the desktop, the computer freezes. Seems to be getting worse. Started a week ago.

Just did a full virus scan (definitions are up to date) today, nothing came up.

She is not extremely computer literate, but does quite well.

Any suggestions?

EDIT: Solved -- had a burnt CD in the drive the whole time, CD-ROM must have had troubles reading it. Jeezzzzz!!!
