Enter The Matrix Game

This game sucks ass.

Before anyone starts screaming "Warez!" I bought it today from a local retailer, which shall remain nameless. Of course the game isn't meant to be released until tomorrow, but they didn't seem to care...

Anyway, back to the game itself. It's horrible.

I am a big Matrix fan and was looking forward to this game. Why, you ask?

Visually, it's really, really shitty. And I mean shitty. It "feels" bad, i.e. the controls are wonky and the camera angles suck. Basically, it feels like a PS1 port, not a PC game.

Oh, and my little brother finished it in two sittings, a total of four hours.

It's ass.

i've played the first couple levels. it's kind of fun at first with the different combos. i wasn't too impressed though =/

Pretty much every game in the history of games that has been based on a movie or TV license has sucked. Star Wars has produced a few gems but out of that many games a few were bound to be good. The developers aren't interested in appealing to gamers who want quality, they just want people who like the film to buy it, play it a few times, and then forget about it.

It's marketing bullshit.

The Wachowski brothers wrote a 244-page script specifically for the game. Instead of using repurposed movie footage for the game?s live-action interludes, the brothers shot an hour of brand-new footage using the same cast, crew and sets featured in the Hollywood blockbuster. The game story cleverly fleshes out off-screen moments only alluded to in The Matrix Reloaded, drawing upon two of the supporting characters from the movie ? Niobe (Jada Pinkett Smith) and Ghost (Anthony Wong) ? to serve as the stars of the game.

So, you've got to play the game AND see the film to fully understand the plot. Riiight.

What's next? Will we have to drink Pepsi to fully appreciate the films?

You're lucky are cute...otherwise the Matrix fanboys around here would have ripped you a new one.

lol. that reminds me of a story i heard the other day. a baby was born without one.

I don't like the camera angles, or the controls, but the graphics are not too bad. I have an AIW Radeon 9700pro and run it at full graphics @ 1280x1024

Actually, I thought the footage was crap. The acting was bad.

I really hope the movie kicks ass.

dang, really that bad huh?

maybe i should have learned my lesson from the LOTR games, but i think as a fan i'm "obligated" to pick up a copy of the game

Don't. Buy Vice City instead. That's what I've done.

well i'm looking for an xbox game, so if i went vice city i'd have to go PC. but i still have gtaIII for PC and i've only finished about 15 missions. i dunno, i guess i'll just rent it. i do want to see the video clips though

I bought the game today aswell. All I will say is that I bought is at a department store... Anyway...

The game is Ok I guess, but not worth the money I payed for it. I basically have the same complaints Bridgen.

If you're hellbent on experiencing this game I highly recommend renting it first.

Save your bones and buy something more enjoyable.

Damn, it sounded so cool too. You guys aren't the only ones who hate it, the people in the Gonegold forums dislike it too.

please don't let the ramblings of one stop you from at least renting the game. i thought the acting and video was good. it was shot in high quality divx (which looked pretty nice on my screen). the game did run a little slow on my 9500, though i had a lot of stuff running at the same time. i will probably finish it just to see "what happens" though i already know.

and no, you don't have to play the game to understand the movie. just know that it has to do with what happens after the final flight of the osiris and before revolutions.

Of course my opinion isn't definitive, but it ran flawlessly on my system with settings at max and I still think it looks like shite.

The Tech tv screen vids did make it look like something based off the Q2 engine or HL engine... Though obviously poorly incorporated.

i think my problem is having not defragged my system or cleaned it in any other way for like 5 months. i'm doing that now 😀

oh, and in no means did i want to take from what you said. i agree in most cases. it is still fun to turn on the "focus" and kick those security guards' asses! woo! oh, and getting your ass kicked by the agent no matter what you do = teh suck.
