Yup. And Lay was convicted on four counts of bank fraud. That's 30 years for each conviction and they were FEDERAL charges which means he serves the time. Even if he got the easy way out and only had to serve one month for every year of his sentence he'd still be in prison for over ten years. He's a 63 year old white-collar pansy.

Sounds like a life sentence to me.

Melikes!!! :D

What pisses me off is how Lay was still declaring his innocence when the media stuck a microphone in his face. It's like.........hey DUDE!! A friggin' court just revealed all your wrong-doing!!! Get it?????

You blew it! You grow balls & admit it!! Realize that you ruined people's LIVES because of the crap you did!!! What..........your mansions weren't enough?? Millions on top of millions wasn't enough?? Mercedes, BMW's, Jaguars weren't good enough??

Now go die!!!!

Time to meet your maker!!!!!!!!!! :|

$20 says he gives them pardons on his way out the door.

Sentencing is sometime in September.

Go rob a 7-Eleven, get convicted, and see how long it takes to get sentenced.
You'll probably spend more time in prison than those two as well.

Too bad they were't tried in state court. I bet there is no "Club Fed" in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice... :(

Skilling was found guilty on 19 counts of conspiracy, fraud, false statements and insider trading. He was found not guilty on eight counts of insider trading.

Lay was found guilty on all six counts of conspiracy and fraud.

In a separate bench trial, Judge Sim Lake ruled Lay was guilty of four counts of fraud and false statements.

Both Lay and Skilling could face 20 to 30 years in prison, legal experts say.

why are they still out free while awaiting appeal?!

Chinese American Languishes in Chinese Jail
Listen Listen (segment)
Eight years ago, Chinese-American businessman Jude Shao got a visit from the tax man in his Shanghai office as he was rushing to catch a plane back to the U.S. When Shao returned to China, he was arrested, charged, convicted and sentenced to 16 years for tax evasion.

I'll take that bet.

As I said in a previous post, Bush pushed through and signed the SOX bill because of these two SOBs. The Bush Administration also refused to bail Enron out when they called for help when they realized their ship was about to go under. Given the stain that Clinton's criminal pardons left on his presidential legacy, I don't think Bush will repeat that mistake.

they won't. they have friends in high places *couBUSHESgh*. none that want to tarnish their career by directly offering assistance. But i'm sure strings will get pulled to send them to a nice "white collar" federal prison, the kind with minimal security, long walks on the beach, and without ass raping. too bad though.
Agreed. 2-3 years max.
Kinda depressing.

I made a post a while back in response to the school teacher that nailed a couple of 13-year-old boys.
My prediction was that she would get 2 years and be out in 6 months.

BUT, we would soon see two 18-year-old boys get 10-20 in a federal prison for recieving head from 17yo sluts.

I dont think lady justice is really blind.
