Enron made good 'move'

Funny after donating multi-millions to Bush during his runs for Govenor and President - they still went bankrupt. Now they switch to Democrats... Why can't companies learn that donations to a political party will not make all their troubles go away? If they still had the many many millions they poured into politics, maybe they wouldn't have such bad financial troubles.

And you really have to wonder about those in Congress who keep stalling meaningful campaign finance reform. :Q

Also, the very fact that they poured so much money into Bush's campaign made it very difficult for him to help them, without appearance of quid pro quo.
I guess full disclosure does work. I wish everytime a congressman is on TV they would show who his top contributors are. That would help clean things up.

This is an issue affecting both sides, they all get money from a wide variety of companies both, legally and illegally. And the ?smart? companies pay both sides off so no matter who is in power they win! Although I don't agree with John McCain on most issues, I do strongly agree on him with CFR. 🙂

LOL... i used to work for the Canadian arm of the company that audited Enron's books every year. It was funny, cuz the office manager started acting really funny around July, and the Enron Canada books were sealed. We peons thought nuttin of it, as this happens when audits are finished, or if there are no glaring problems with the account. I guess in retrospect, maybe we should have clued in. I'm glad I left in august, cuz I'd hate to have to deal with the residual effect, particularly with the SEC, and CSC investigations...

My friend's uncle used to work for Enron as a sysadmin. He said they had a little joke after all this sh*t went through "anyone working for Enron that is below Vice President status has probably turned into a democrat if they weren't one before."

I hear some Republican politicians/Enron Execs/Accounting Firms are liable and may be in big trouble. Who wants to take bets on who goes to jail? 🙂

<< Enron Corp. contributed $100,000 to Democrats after giving nearly all its prior donations this year to Republicans. >>

Thank you for an excellent and obvious example of liberal bias in the media. Enron has given plenty of cash to the democrat party in the past.

Russ: Proof? Link?

The oil/energy companies usually give to the republicans while the lawyer and realtors give to the democrats more.

Have people become so lazy that they just take the first article that comes along and accept it as fact?

1996 Election Cycle.

Clearly, they gave more to the GOP, but to state that "nearly all" prior donations went to Republicans is, at best, sloppy reporting and, at worst, a deliberate fabrication.
