I understand completely where you're coming from Fritzo. His point is "fake concern" (i.e. Hey! Maybe people would be more willing to purchase from us if we show we're sympathetic?).
Eh...I could take it or leave it to be honest, but I do frown when I see such messages. Every other media outlet is already pointing out the same information (give, give, give---all relief aid is worthwhile for these tragedies), who doesn't know where to contribute? At least most major e-tailers like Amazon are doing it tactfully (front page only--that's it)...
Note: So this thread doesn't mute the real point. If you can contribute (money, time, items, whatever) to the relief efforts, by all means do so!
