I'm turning off the TV for the rest of the weekend and doing something else... anything.
I've been cable free for a year and not missing it one bit. Death to the evil cable corporations.
Haven't had TV for 6+ years now, and don't miss a thing.
We have a guy in our office like this. We'll all be sitting around the lunchroom talking about local news, politics, sports, and our favorite TV shows, and he has no clue as to what we're talking about.
One incident that made me LOL was he takes the bus to work, and our bus routes had to be changed due to major construction. They warned about this on the news for 3 weeks, and he didn't hear about it. One morning he was about 30 minutes late. He came storming into the office "MY DAMN BUS NEVER SHOWED UP!"
Moral of the story: No TV is great, but people without one tend to be a lot less informed as they're not exposed to the flow of random information.
