I'm sick of hearing about Trayvon Martin and the person who shot him. I'm sick of hearing about the Titanic. And I'm sick of all the dumb Cup Cake reality TV shows we have on television. I'm turning off the TV for the rest of the weekend and doing something else... anything.

I haven't been bothered by any of this. I have cable, but I really don't watch it.

Im often puzzled by the way people talk about things that appear on tv. It almost sounds as though someone is forcing them to watch things that they don't want to watch. It's always "I can't stand another minute of this thing I'm watching". Why would anyone put themselves through this?
 
I don't really get tired of the coverage about the Titanic disaster. It was a major event in modern 'istory. It's especially important this year since it's been 100 years since the tragic sinking.

We have a guy in our office like this. We'll all be sitting around the lunchroom talking about local news, politics, sports, and our favorite TV shows, and he has no clue as to what we're talking about.

One incident that made me LOL was he takes the bus to work, and our bus routes had to be changed due to major construction. They warned about this on the news for 3 weeks, and he didn't hear about it. One morning he was about 30 minutes late. He came storming into the office "MY DAMN BUS NEVER SHOWED UP!"

Moral of the story: No TV is great, but people without one tend to be a lot less informed as they're not exposed to the flow of random information.

I'm likely more informed than the typical American TV watcher. Informed about important local/national/international matters anyway. Not so much about who's dancing with what dipshit, or which Hollywood whore got caught with a needle in her arm again...

I do have internet. My flow of random information is not hindered one bit. Granted I'm not up to date on who is still a contestant on American Idol, but everything else I'd hazard to guess I'm even more well informed than my tv watching brethren.
