Hi, I currently have the enlight 7237 and am about to get another computer put together. I liked the looks of the evercase and was wondering the quality comparisons between it and my current case. Its hard to judge the quality of a case when buying online...

Feel free to toss in your own opinion on what case I should get for around 60bucks (w/ ps). But none of those cases with the door swing please! I cant stand how they look for some reason.

i have the evercase 4252 and i love it. its big inside lots of room for crives wires and such. it comes with a 80mm side intake fan which is nice and it is really sturdy. its really easy in and out of because its a truly screwless case has room for a 120mm intake fan and an 80mm exaust. only problim i have with it is that the reset button is set in to teh case so you have to push it with a toothpick or something like that. but otherwise its a great all around case for a great price.

Go with the Evercase. I think it takes a 90mm fan in front, not a 120. I bought one with the psu and it is a great case. The psu is amd approved. Look at newegg at the case accessories. For $4 you can get the bracket and fan for the side of the case. Although for a Duron you really will not need it. I added a 90 mm intake in the front and a 80mm exhaust in the back. I use a CoolerMaster HSF and run a steady 29 to 30C on a Duron 900.

I have the enlight case e4252 and love the design however it might be shorting out my mboard!

The mounting "bumps" it comes with touch my mboard in the back where there are no screw holes in the mboard. I've been getting really strange results and had to RMA a mboard and cpu so far.

I know in general the case shouldn't touch the mboard except for the metal studs in the case and screw holes in the mboard. However w/this case it does touch w/my mboard.

Abit KR7a-133
Athalon 1800+

Very frustrating ...

hmmm, what are these bumps youre referring to? Is it just points where the mobo rests? And this affects the mobo's functionality? Im getting the Abit KT7A soon (newegg refurb, along with a newegg refurb amd1.33) so I duno if its gonna be a similar design as your mobo.

With your Epox .. does the mboard rest on any of the mounting "bumps" where there are NO screw holes in the board??

Maybe thats the difference? My mboard actually rests on the last three bumps (basically built in studs), but there is no screw holes. It looks like its touching the board in the back where circuits etc rest.

Thanks.

PLEASE! DO NOT GET AN ABIT BOARD AND THIS CASE!!!

Save yourself some hassles! Abit boards and this case do not work well together!!! You can actually put tape on the mboard to make sure it doesn't touch the mounting bump, but I'm going w/SOMETHING else.

I got this from the case manufacturer (EVERCASE):

"

THANK YOU FOR YOUR ORDERING OF THE EVERCASE'S PRODUCTS.

THE CASE ECE4252 IS DESIGNED BY THE ATX FORM FACTOR STANDARD, BUT WE FOUND
THAT SOME M/BS, I.E. ABIT'S KR7A-133 M/B, DOES NOT ABIDE BY THE
STANDARD(ABIT'S OTHER M/BS FOLLOWED THE ATX STANDARD EXCEPT AFEW OF THEM, I
WONDER WHY?, SO THE STAND OFF POSITION ON THE THIRD ROW ARE MISMATCH. TO
AVOIDE THE SHORTING PROBLEM, YOU CAN SIMPLE USE A PLASTIC TAPE TO COVER THE
M/B TRY BOSS TO INSULATE.

SHOULD YOU HAVE ANY QUESTION, PLEASE DO NOT HESITATE TO CONTACT ME.

Can people tell me what type of mboard you are using w/this case?!?! Since the Abit KR7A-133 doesn't work well w/this case I'm getting another one.

Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Thanks for your replies Magilla. I have an alternate board to use with this case. Maybe an Asus a7v133 will work better.

Sounds like the Epox 8kha+ works well this case and people haven't had problems. I'm leaning towards this one tonight ...

I'd love to look at a newer board w/the KT333 chipset but want this to work!

Thanks again.

<< PLEASE! DO NOT GET AN ABIT BOARD AND THIS CASE!!! >>

I have an Abit KT7A mounted in this case right now. Works perfectly. Other than being a little warmer case than my Antec SX1030, I have absolutely no problem with it. Mounts perfectly, runs great.

Headache for 3 weeks 2 Abit KR7A-133 Mboards!

Aw crap!!! I was already pretty much decided on these two EXACT parts for myself... if anything though, I would rather choose another case than another mobo, but that's just me... but since I plan to mod it anyways, I can't imagine it being that hard to get some sort of rubber washers in between, even if it means partially removing some of the standoff, right? (sorta newb at this).

I really like the overall equipment, but obviously it is a HUGE headache!

I really like the case! You should be able to put rubber washers or even electrical tape on the studs for the mboard. I just went through SUCH a painful experience I wasn't going to try!!!!

I have seen a lot of problems w/the Abit KR7a board though
e.g http://www.motherboards.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?forumid=1

HTH and good luck.

If I Ihad to do it over I'd probably go w/a differnt case and mboard.. howeve the SCREWLESS case is really nice :)

I have 2 of the enlight case, and one of the Evercase mentioned.

I prefer the enlight for the following reasons:

1. not as ugly (not a big deal tho)
2. the rails it uses make it really easy to slide one drive out, and into another computer with the same case.
BUT, this can also be true of the evercase, since it does not use any rails or screws. The rails can actually be
a hastle if you are using the mounting brackets for a harddrive, but it really depends how often you plan on
moving stuff around.
3. Um, I already have 2 of them?
4. It appears to be constructed better

However, the evercase can be found in black at newegg.com, as well as other black components.
And the ability to put around 4-6 harddrives in it, with a cd rom, floppy, and cd-rw is also cool. There is tons
of space for everything. And, you can put up to a 120mm fan on the harddrives (front of case). I think an adapter
is needed tho. I would suggest using a filter tho if you have any amount of dust around...the side fan is cool as well.
That reminds me, I need to get a bracket for that...

This may not help much....both cases are great. They have their pros and cons. If I were to buy another case, I really
do not know which I would get. Probably the evercase, so I would have 2 of each. Yes, after looking at each case again
I would definately get the evercase, in black >:-D Another pro: it has front USB ports, if you can find a scematic to
hook them up. Every wire has a different end on it, and nothing to tell you what goes where.

Hope that helps.....I know I am more confused now :)

Evercase ugly? Mmm ... guess its all a matter of perspective. I got it because I thought the case looked better :)

The only knock against the case is the damm built in stand-offs. If the mboard doesn't use them correctly you'll have to use electrical tape or something to make sure they dont' touc the mboard.

I like the screwless design, the EASY inserting and removing of drives for the bays, the drive cages are great, and the case is BIG.

If I had to do it gain I may go for the enlight because of the standoffs .. those things caused me a lot of headaches.

Good luck w/everything.

thanks for the confusing comparison torval. lol.

I think I will be getting the Evercase in black. Looks sweet. The Enlight looks very plain (which can be good in some ways).
