Powerswitch connector plugged into the proper place on the mobo? I've hooked those up wrong often. (offset a pin or two)

is the ps motherboard power connector down all the way. You could have a short somewhere in the case as well. I recommend jerry rigging the thing so the mobo sits on some insulation and you test it before you put it in the case, ie make sure the fans spin, etc. Then you go from there. One baby step at a time, and keep checking to make sure you dont short it out.

to see if the psu is at fault, unplug the power cord from the power supply, then use a paper clip to connect the green and any black wire on the atx mobo connector. then plug in the power cord. if the power supply turns on, so far so good. next recheck your connections to make sure you have everything right. as bozo said, you might've put the powerswitch connector in the wrong spot.

I guess ill give that a try buy taking it out of the case.

I was gonna try to get another powersupply and see if works and then see if that fixes it...

but i was wondering why the powersupply itself does not have a switch on it for on/off..

I i know the connector from the PS to the MB is connected right buy ill try to offset one or two slots and see if that helps..

Also there seem to be a coupple extra connecters that i have never seen before... the computer being built is a 1gig amd...my guess is that thos connectors are for a P4 but not sure...

Anyway ill give those a try and see if that fixes it... any other tips or things to try would help thanks.

I went round and round with PS units in that case from Treasure Chest. It wouldn't power up an ASUS P3B-F after the power had been removed from the PS. I had to remove the battery for a minute, from the mobo first, then it would power up via the front panel switch. It worked fine as long as it stayed plugged in. If it was unplugged from the wall, it wouldn't power up without removing the mobo battery. I had two more 300Watt power supplies sent out from TC, but they all did the same thing. The supplies worked with other mobos, though. I finally swapped the TC PS with another generic unit that worked fine.
