So ... basically ... interpolation. Big deal. He's still using rectangular "pixels", some of which happen to be of the same value next to each other making a compound "pixel".

Essentially he's interpolating, losing fidelity in the process. I was hoping for something novel, like a specially crafted physical pixel. The long and the short of it is even his so-called process still utilizes pixels, and we're not getting away from it any time soon.

Also, it sounds as if his method essentially reduces the effective "pixel count" of a device, the fidelity of which could be better served as individual pixels at a higher/more dense resolution.
