school was fine, i enjoyed it. i loved finals week, it was like a competition, i wanted to beat everyone else. and when you were done, you were DONE, for a month or three til the next semester.
work is more stressful right now, but mainly because of the two projects i'm on. usually it's a bunch of smaller projects. and working in the government, like someone else said, is more like working in a large company. you are one of thousands. now i don't consider myself a bad engineer, but i don't think i'd be up to doing these 12 hour days for months on end. i haven't been in "real" private industry outside of defense work, and if that's how it is, no thank you, you can keep it! if that's the way it is, i'd probably switch to a machinist position, skilled work, still pays ok, and you're probably on a union schedule.
