Ok, I've tested this CPU out now and have confirmed that I can change the multiplier from 8 to 8.5 to 9 with no problems. I seem to topping out just under 1300MHz with this CPU though. What is the max safe voltage of this CPU while using an Alpha 6035 (I think that's what it is). I've gotten to WinXP desktop at 160x8@1.9v but it crashes out of 3dMark2001 and Prime95. Is 1.95v safe???? I'm a little apprehensive about stepping up that high. Suggestions?????

Thanks,

dave

EDIT

Here's a pic.

And here's a better one.

I'm in the process of getting a combo ready for an eBay auction, and when I pulled the heatsink/fan to get the S-Spec of the processor (a 850 celeron) it shows the s-spec as QBC6ES. I can't find that s-spec on Intel's webpage and I can only assume that the ES means engineering sample.......true????

Thanks

Try changing the multiplier with the motherboard, if you can it is a true engineering sample.

I'll have to try and change the multiplier when I get time. The CPU does do 1200MHz at default voltage but I've never tried anything besides the FSB.

I would give it up to 1.95v provided your temps stay cool enough. I wouldn't like to run more than 45c with a coppermine core at that high voltage.
