I got a call from Engineer, and he is still fighting with Insight on trying to get his PC connected to the Internet. He lost it around midnight last night, been on and off the phone with them today. :|

He wanted to let anyone who uses his SETIQ to know it is still off-line, and he doesn't have any idea when it will be back. He was going to get back in the hold queue after he called me. 🙁

He will post another update either 1: When he gets connected, or 2. From work tomorrow.

If it looks like a long term thing, maybe one of us can get a SETIQ opened up on his port and he can route his DNS to that temp Q.

Well....I'm one of the few that the switchover didn't work for from @home to InsightBB.....and the tech's couldn't do anything about it yet other than offer to switch my modem...which worked fine before the switchover. They don't have the network admin tools installed yet and may not be able to diagnose the trouble until as late as Thursday or Friday :| (Some smooth switchover, eh? :confused😉

I'll keep you guys informed...I've got to call them back today to see how things are going.....sigh! 🙁

Gotta love insight's tech support. I usually tell them what the problem is up front, then they spend a couple of hours troubleshooting it, coming to the same answer that I gave them at the beginning of the call.

Engineer, do you have your queue running on a computer that you can move to a different location? I have a router set up and my connection is fine (at this point). Do you have it set up on a dyn dns service? Is there anything I cna do to help get your queue back up?
 
Thanks for the heads up, guys. I guess I'll have to move to a different SETIQ server. I'll be back, though..... 🙂

Engineer and I have talked about routing his DNS through my queue until he gets his connection back up since it is the same port. So if you have a bunch of computers to switch i'd just leave them for the time being since they'll just be rerouted through my SetiQ -->MysteryMachine.

Just changed the IP to CAD's and everything should be mapped over once the info propagates throughout the various DNS...

Fingers crossed and a big thanks to CAD for the help 🙂

Now to bang InsightBB to get this fixed...ARGH!!!!!
 
I have edited the TeAm queue page to make note of the temporary re-map. 🙂

Hope you get up and running soon. I went through my transition from Comcast@Home to Comcast HSI almost 2 weeks ago and have been crossing my fingers that it stays stable.

This sucks. I hope I don't have the same problem when I get switched to attbi.com from mediaone.net. I don't know when it will be finalized, but I know by March 15th I will be switched. Wish me luck. 😀 And Good luck to you Engineer!

I can see the queue and have already turned in results from two separate locations.




Last night I switched my home machines to Shux's queue, but they have not shown up over there 😕

I'll switch em back to a Federation channel tonight 😉

Actually, Thanks to CadKindaguy for letting me remap the Federation name to his IP under the port 443 🙂

My cable modem service will be down for who know's how long...so I thought It would be easeier to remap it to another Queue until the true Fed Queue get's a net connection.

Well...I'm off to the house and have already place another call with InsightBB to have my name placed in the CALLBACK queue (No pun intended to SETI...of course 😉 )

Well that's odd... I just tried manually submitting a WU with SetiDriver to the federation queue and after it connected it came up with an empty account summary and wasn't receiving anything. Soon as I realized, I tried backing up that WU folder but it was too late.. After a few minutes of inactivity I clicked to cancel the transfer.. SetiDriver showed

Waiting to process: 4
Need to Fill: 4

Afterwards it showed:
Waiting to process: 3
Need to Fill: 4

Is this just normal for the first time establishing an account on a new Queue and the reason it didn't receive any WUs back was because my queue on CAD's was empty? or did I just lose a WU to WU heaven?

edit> just realized why my report sounded strange.. I should have included "Ready to transmit" info but realized it shows "0" 🙁 I think those 4 WUs (had a queue of 8) vanished... *boggle*

Bleh.. 2nd time this has happened.. first was with OK's. Guess I'll see if Norton can unerase anything... user_info.sah definitely got overwritten with a file with blank info. Anyone know what the name and contents for the result files are?
 
RigorousT - your 4 WUs are happily sitting in my Queue waiting to be uploaded to bezerkly. You couldn't download any right away cuz i had to fill your queue with some WUs manually since bezerkly isn't playing nice. All should be well now though 😀

Hey everyone...

Update: There was a database problem with my cable modem in the new system. The techs still don't have the tools to correct this themselves...so they had to send it off to a main office to have corrected. With any luck, it will be corrected today as the tech has scheduled a call-back to check on my connection today....

Wish me luck again...at least we know what's wrong...now if only to get it fixed! 🙂

Are you going to have a static or a dynamic IP Address with the new account?

It will be dynamic...but will have a 4 day lease. I've heard that it ususally doesn't change if you leave a connection to it and don't have any DHCP requests...so hopefully the router will keep it live for much longer. I'll look into have a program on my PC to automatically change it if it does change....as DHS.ORG says that this may be possible....

If not...I may have to switch to a another dhs service..such as the one you run through.
