Engineer has pneumonia

and feels like total crap. Have not been this sick in nearly 30 years.

:'(

/blog

I feel you man. I had walking Pneumonia a few years ago, and I've never, ever felt that bad before. When I finally went to urgent care they came back with chest X-rays and the doctor said "well you win the sickest person of the day award".

Vicodin + antibiotics + sleep will help. As much sleep as you can. The cough will finally be gone in about 2 months, and be careful not to overextend yourself in the mean time. It's really easy to get sick again cause your body will be so weak.

Sucks. I've had pee-new-monia a few times...started after I got gassed in an anhydrous ammonia leak almost 40 years ago.
When I get it, I can't breathe, can't smoke, can't sleep.

Can you engineer?

Not sure why but my head is pounding. Can't engineer right now either. The only reason I'm typing is because my wife is making me sit up because the doctor told me to sit up and move around as much as possible (no laying flat).

I want to lay and sleep....(not die though).

Did you have a temp show up to work (the type that doesn't get paid for not showing up) and cough all over the place? You know, so the infected air could recirculate?

I did that once - one guy got pneumonia🙂.

I used to get yearly bronchitis, and that sucked. Can't imagine what the next level's like. Drink some tea or something hot with steam, may help loosen things up a tiny bit (every bit helps right?).

Flu can be brutual as you get older. My mom, who is in her 50s, got it a few years ago. Completely wrecked her for a while, it was pretty scary. She later commented that when she got the flu in her 30s it wasn't anywhere as bad.

Hope you get better soon

I've had it before, and it sucks. Easily the sickest I've ever been. My fever got so high that I started hallucinating.

Hope you get well soon.

also, you're not a smoker are you? My ex-wife's bf died last year from lung cancer and it was at first mistaken for pneumonia.

I can't sleep laying down when I get bronchitis or pneumonia. I have to sleep sitting up. It sucks.

Meh pneumonia isn't that bad pretty sure in high school I was forced to do those dumb fitness tests with them, which does include some amount of jogging/running.

As for not being able to lay down, you need better medication. 😛
