As I understand it, that only happened once and now everything is working normally.

Something similar happened in a miata.net post recently.. He left the car sit a bit through the winter and the engine would barely crank. Turns out a bit of moisture was in the engine and rust formed on the cylinder wall. The dealership soaked the cylinder walls with penetrating oil for 2 days and the engine started (they replaced the engine oil and returned the car).
